The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or

for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

A scientific center of Armenian studies will start functioning at the Baku State University in the coming days, head of the University's press and information department Parvana Ibrahimova told Trend on August 24.

"The center will study the historical and contemporary problems on the "Armenian issue" and inform the public of Azerbaijan on public-political processes taking place in Armenia. The center will study the ideological and subversive activities of the Armenian state and the diaspora directed against Azerbaijan and the Turkic world. Also, the center will conduct activities to combat such activities of Armenians," said Ibrahimova.

According to Ibrahimova, establishing such a center will fill certain emptiness available in Azerbaijani society. "The essence of the "Armenian issue" raised abroad and inside country will be investigated in detail and also the activities of missionaries from Western countries in certain historical periods will be studied. West's interests in Anatolia and the South Caucasus, its plans for "Greater Armenia" and implementation of these plans through the historic lands of Azerbaijan will be scientifically analyzed and studied. The character of the Armenian terrorism will be disclosed, and a chronology of crimes committed by the Armenians will be compiled," said Ibrahimova.
    Hilarious, truly insane.
I suppose it could become the centrepiece of a theme-park, "turcworld".

ISTANBUL: Turkish university struggles with Armenian language faculty

      Hurriyet Daily News, Turkey

Turkish university struggles with Armenian language faculty

      Sunday, August 22, 2010
ISTANBUL - Daily News with Hürriyet

An Armenian language and literature department that opened this year
at Erciyes University in Kayseri attracted only four students this
year following university entrance exams, according to staff at the
school. The low interest is also compounded by a difficulty in finding
personnel to teach the subject matter.

Interest in the university's Hebrew Language and Literature Department
was also similarly limited, with only nine applicants.

In response, the entrance requirements will be lowered to encourage
more students, said Professor Metin Hülagü, Deputy Rector of Erciyes
      University.

The departments, however, have staff problems, said the deputy rector,
adding that the university had arranged tenure for scholars from
Yerevan and Athens to teach Armenian and Hebrew, but remained unable
to proceed because of problems with the Finance Ministry.

`YÖK [the Supreme Board of Education] granted permission to us to hire
scholars for these departments. However, the Ministry of Finance is
resisting on the matter of personnel assignment,' said Hülagü.

Speaking to the Hürriyet Daily News & Economic Review, Hakan Aktürk,
press consultant for the Finance Ministry, said the matter was being
investigated and added that personnel assignment had been neither
      accepted nor rejected.

`We, as the Finance Ministry, do not and cannot hold a grudge against
a certain university,' said Aktürk, adding that all the universities
in Turkey have similar staff problems.

Hülagü said there was a considerable need for foreign language
graduates, especially those speaking Armenian and Hebrew, adding that
they would be able to find jobs easily.

Erciyes University is also set to found more faculties in Hindu, Urdu,
      Arabic and Persian.

GEORGIA WILL NOT SELL STRATEGIC GAS PIPELINES

        The Messenger
        Aug 24 2010
        Georgia

The Georgian government is not going to sell the main gas pipeline
connecting Russia and Armenia, according to a statement by the Georgian
Energy Minister, Alexander Khetaguri on August 20. "Maybe oil and gas
corporation shares will be sold on the London stock exchange, but as
for selling, Georgia is not going to sell any of its gas pipelines,"
        the Minister said.

As reported previously, the Azeri State Oil Company SOCAR expressed
great interest in managing all the pipelines in Georgia. SOCAR
President, Abdulaev mentioned that the company is interested in
participating in every energy project in its neighbouring country. The
idea of selling the gas pipeline connecting Russia and Armenia, created
many serious arguments in the Georgian political establishment. Russian
Gazprom, Kazakh Kazmunaigas and Azerbaijani SOCAR all expressed a
readiness to purchase the gas pipeline, if it is offered for sale.

The secret of Azerbaijan's economic success
          By Messenger Staff
          Thursday, September 2
Official circles in Azerbaijan are constantly highlighting the fact of the country’s regional leadership. Azeri economic analyst Parhad Omarov stated that in 2010 Azerbaijan's economic success was acknowledged the world over. The IMF also acknowledged the Azeri central bank's effective anti-crisis policy. As a result, in 2009 Azerbaijan achieved the largest economic growth in the world. The Azeri Central Bank believes that the country will continue to be a leader in economic growth in the south Caucasus region. Azerbaijani is the richest country in the South Caucasus in terms of currency reserves. But analysts think that Azerbaijan's economic success is mainly reliant on oil and gas and if the country did not have these reserves their economy would be less developed than either Armenia’s or Georgia’s. They conclude that Azerbaijan's regional leadership in the south Caucasus economy is based purely on the export of its oil and gas.

Azerbaijan needs to cancel decision about transfer of Yerevan to Armenia
            Mon 06 September 2010 | 07:55 GMT Text size:

            Fazil Mustafa
News.Az interviews Milli Majlis (parliament) deputy Fazil Mustafa.

In a response to the decision of Azerbaijan to include a resolution on the occupied lands into the UN agenda, the Armenian parliament is preparing to discuss the recognition of the independence of Karabakh. Which actions can the Azerbaijani side take to respond Armenia’s actions?

The Azerbaijani parliament must pass a decision to annul the document ratified in 1918 which envisions the transfer of Irevan city (Yerevan) to Armenia. Along with this decision, Azerbaijan should also launch serious campaigns to return Irevan to Azerbaijan. These actions will be a response to Armenia’s actions. In addition, the world community should be informed that the Azerbaijani side is taking such actions since Armenia which created a state in the territory of historical Azerbaijan now wants to occupy more lands. It means that the Azerbaijani side must take adequate steps in a response to the possible recognition of the so-called Nagorno Karabakh Republic by Armenia. Azerbaijan must always be ready for these steps, since Armenia is inclined to take such provocative steps.

Does the Azerbaijani side have sufficient documents to demand the return of the current capital of Armenia?

Certainly, it does. On 29 May 1918 the government of the Azerbaijan People’s Republic passed a decision to transfer Irevan to the Republic of Armenia which immediately proclaimed independence. The relevant documents are kept in archives. Therefore, the new composition of the Azerbaijani parliament to form after the upcoming parliamentary elections of November 7 is to pass a decision about the return of Irevan. This step must be taken to restore justice.

Which dividends is Azerbaijan planning to get by putting the draft resolution “On the situation in the occupied lands of Azerbaijan” to the UN agenda for the fourth time?

As is known, the humanity has long been fighting for lands. This struggle continues nowadays. Therefore, it is necessary to continue the struggle both diplomatically and militarily. We should not give up, since unless a nation lives in a definite place, it has a right to protect its historical interests. If some nations use terror for the purpose, we, who have created our state, must concentrate to achieve these goals.

Does the submission of the Karabakh issue in the UN agenda by Azerbaijan mean that Baku does not believe in the OSCE potential?

This is not a contradictory step by Azerbaijan. UN and OSCE have different mandates and status. The OSCE Minsk Group is an institution which supports Armenia, therefore, Azerbaijan should find and use the opportunities of a different area, in this case, the UN capacities. Otherwise, we might be late and Armenians will leave us behind in this issue.

What does the Azerbaijani side expect now considering the fact that the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs have earlier voted against the resolution “On the situation in the occupied lands of Azerbaijan”?

The work the Azerbaijani side holds with those states is not satisfactory. We need to intensify this work. We need to intensify our efforts to get the support of those states.

CNN broadcasts Chingiz Mustafayev's documentary on Nagorno-Karabakh war - UPDATE - SHOCKING FOOTAGE
              06 September 2010 [15:10] - Today.Az

American CNN International has featured a report about the life and death of Azerbaijan's national hero Chingiz Mustafayev whose video materials about the Khojaly tragedy made it known to the world.

The report features the barbaric murder of innocent residents of Khojaly - hundreds of infants, children and elderly persons for the only reason of their being Azerbaijanis. The author of the program Sevinj Osmangyzy said “though 18 years have passed since he died no report about Chingiz Mustafayev can excel what he had done himself”.

Armenian Assembly of America conducted a campaign to prevent broadcasting of the report. But their efforts did not give any result at all. The report about Chingiz Mustafayev will be broadcast at one of the popular news television programs of World View five times within four days. CNN International with over 800m people watching it is broadcast in 212 countries via 23 satellites.

I wonder how much Azeris paid CNN to get this propaganda aired.
Though in retrospect, the report has very little shock value. It could have been done in a way to inflict much more damage.

Don't forget the Iraeli-Azerbaijani "friendship" and that CNN is basically a tv show created by xxxs.

In any case, the video repeatedly talks about "exposing the truth," but chinghiz mustafayev never really exposed the "truth." 3-4 dead bodies on the floor is not 613 deaths. We have pictures of more Maraghar victims than they have of Khojaly victims. Armenians should make a similar report about the Maraghar massacre, and "expose" the truth as well.
