Flag of Azerbaijan in Baku torn by wind for the 4th time

PanARMENIAN.Net - The flag of Azerbaijan, erected on the State Flag Square in Baku, was torn by a blast of wind.
The police have cordoned off the square and adjacent streets while structures in charge were removing the torn flag.
This has been the 4th incident on the Square since the opening day on September 1, 2010. The faktxeber.com cites the wrong choice of the Square location as the reason for the incidents.Մեկ Ազգ, Մեկ Մշակույթ

Have you ever thought what would happen if Armenia organized 1 million mailings of that pic (or something like it) sent from another country (e.g. sent from the U.S.) to random addresses in Azerbaijan once a year? (AZ = 6-7 mil. population; Muslim country) First thing that would happen is that it would send the AZ mail system into chaos as they tried to retrieve every single one of the mailings. Second thing that would happen is that the AZ citizens would start to accept that it's OK to criticize Aliyev. Have you thought about handing flyers to Iranian tourists to educate them on Pan-Turkic policies? The plight of the Talysh? The Azerbaijani Diaspora in the US raised concern over Armenian Metzamor Nuclear Power Plant. The Diaspora has started a new campaign by sending the letters to the US Congress members in order to dismantle the plant.
"The recent earthquake in Japan has shown vividly the inherent dangers of nuclear power plants in seismically-active areas. If Japan was caught off-guard, then what is to say of reckless third world nations? The Metzamor Nuclear Power Plant was built during the 1970s, about 20 miles west of the Armenian capital of Yerevan in the city of Metzamor. The plant was constructed with two VVER-440 Model V230 nuclear reactors", reminds the Diaspora.
"The guaranteed resource potential of the working Armenian nuclear power plant will be exhausted by 2016".
According to the authors, the design of the Metzamor plant is much the same as those which the European Union insisted be shut down before Bulgaria and Slovakia joined the EU.
"Metzamor is located in the area which has 11-magnitude earthquake risk. It was built to withstand only 9-magnitude earthquake. After the devastating earthquake in Armenia in 1988, the authorities decided to close it, which is a proof that even the Armenian powers of that period realized the threat of Metzamor nuke plant in case of force majeure and natural cataclysms", they noted.
"Although the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe documents expressed concerns more than once, that this nuke station situated in the seismically active zone is a source of serious danger for all of the Caucasus region unfortunately, the plant is still operational", the Diaspora reminds.
"The U.S. Congress and Government must make all foreign aid to Armenia conditional to the immediate closing of the Metzamor nuke plant this year", suggest the Diaspora.

A scandal broke out at the concert organized by the Azerbaijani community of St. Petersburg on the occasion of Nowruz holiday on March 19.
Azerbaijani Consul General to Saint Petersburg Gudsi Osmanov was accused of child abuse in front of spectators during the concert.
When Osmanov took to the stage to deliver a congratulatory speech, a man stood in the hall with a loudspeaker in his hand and shouted: “He must not be allowed to make a speech! He is a man of no scruples. He has no moral right to be called Azerbaijani!”
The man said that Azerbaijan’s Consul General raped a certain underage Aybeniz. A girl sitting next to him took the loudspeaker and accused the Azerbaijani Consul General of pedophilia. She confirmed that Osmanov had raped her in her childhood. Later, she turned out to be the girl, the man was speaking of.
“This villain, hiding behind public office and the Azerbaijani flag, destroys lives of girls. I am not the only victim of this pedophile. There are dozens of them. I appeal to all parents to keep their children away from this villain!” she cried.

azeris are taking Israeli journalists to azerbaijan and will show them guba, where they discovered a mass grave and claim Armenians massacred mountain J ews. Armenia has to act on this and prevent the journalists from going to azerbaijan and being deceived by those idiotic claims. Armenia has also asked why azerbaijan doesnt do tests to find out the nationality of the deceased?

Corruption scandal involving pro-Azerbaijani MP in European Parliament

An unprecedented scandal erupted due to investigation connected with Adrian Severin, Romanian MP of the European Parliament, the main lobbyist of Azerbaijan. The British Sunday Times newspaper accused him of taking money for bringing amendments to laws.
Although European MP rejects accusations, nevertheless several MPs made harsh statements on the issue. Vice-Speaker of the European Parliament said he intends to put forward an initiative on conduction of an official investigation. The leader of European Socialists Martin Schultz will ask for Severin’s withdrawal from the group.
Martin Schultz also stated any MP accused of taking bribes must immediately resign. The European press is full of articles telling about the scandal.

PanARMENIAN.Net - The report of OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs' Field Assessment Mission on the situation in Karabakh-adjacent territories one again refuted misinformation disseminated through Azerbaijani propaganda, Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesman Tigran Balayan sated.
As he noted, Armenia shares in the OSCE MG co-chars view point on the fact that “only a peaceful, negotiated settlement can bring the prospect of a better, more certain future.” Balayan also added that a visit of the co-chairs to the northern part of Martakert region, eastern part of Martuni region and Shahumyan region is expected, with co-chairs planning to draw up a relevant report on the situation in territories indicated.
The OSCE MG co-chairs presented a report of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs' Field Assessment Mission to territories surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh to OSCE Secretary General. The report testifies to the fact that OSCE representatives in charge of field assessment “failed to notice” the actively developing infrastructure of Artsakh as well as the development of economic, cultural and social sectors.
According to OSCE official website, the report says, “In traveling more than 1,000 kilometers throughout the territories, the Co-Chairs saw stark evidence of the disastrous consequences of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the failure to reach a peaceful settlement. Towns and villages that existed before the conflict are abandoned and almost entirely in ruins. While no reliable figures exist, the overall population is roughly estimated as 14,000 persons, living in small settlements and in the towns of Lachin and Kelbajar. The Co-Chairs assess that there has been no significant growth in the population since 2005. The settlers, for the most part ethnic Armenians who were relocated to the territories from elsewhere in Azerbaijan, live in precarious conditions, with poor infrastructure, little economic activity, and limited access to public services. Many lack identity documents. For administrative purposes, the seven territories, the former NK Oblast, and other areas have been incorporated into eight new districts.”
As the co-chairs believe, “the harsh reality of the situation in the territories has reinforced the view of the Co-Chairs that the status quo is unacceptable, and that only a peaceful, negotiated settlement can bring the prospect of a better, more certain future to the people who used to live in the territories and those who live there now.”
The Co-Chairs urge the leaders of all the parties "to avoid any activities in the territories and other disputed areas that would prejudice a final settlement or change the character of these areas." They also recommend that "measures be taken to preserve cemeteries and places of worship in the territories and to clarify the status of settlers who lack identity documents." The Co-Chairs intend "to undertake further missions to other areas affected by the NK conflict, and to include in such missions experts from relevant international agencies that would be involved in implementing a peace settlement."
