It seems some of our compatriots need to be reminded of the soap action http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhdHJE9cgwQ and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sZDKFnDmeA

Armenian Group To Hold Azeri Film Festival

An Armenian non-governmental organization plans to hold a festival of Azerbaijani films in Yerevan this October as part of its efforts to promote Armenian-Azerbaijani reconciliation.
“The main purpose of our festival is to get the alienated citizen to discuss the number one issue facing our society,” Georgi Vanian, chairman of the Yerevan-based Caucasus Center for Peace Initiatives (CCPR), told RFE/RL on Friday.

“There is demand for peace, which exists in every family but is frozen,” he said. “We are trying to bring it out.”

Vanian said he and other festival organizers have already watched about 50 Azerbaijani movies produced after the Soviet collapse and will select those of them which they think “will appeal to Armenian society.” “We [Armenians] are not familiar with Azerbaijan’s contemporary cinematography,” he said. “We don’t know young filmmakers, the topics they explore, the issues they raise.”

According to Vanian, those filmmakers have consented to the screening of their movies in Yerevan, even though none of them is due to attend the unprecedented event sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in Armenia. “The Azerbaijani press is quite actively discussing the matter,” he said. “I’ve already given two interviews.”

A similar festival of Turkish films, also organized by Vanian’s center, already took place in the Armenian capital in March. The CCPR claims that the Armenian government had previously opposed its holding.

But the government did welcome “days of Azerbaijan” in Armenia that were organized by the CCPR in December 2007. The British-funded initiative involved presentations by the visiting Azerbaijanis and their Armenian partners as well as an arts exhibition and the screening of a documentary film on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Holding similar Armenian-Azerbaijani contacts in Baku has long been practically impossible due to a government policy that considers the very presence of Armenian citizens on Azerbaijani soil an affront to Azerbaijan’s honor and territorial integrity.

Web site of RA economy ministry not been broken by Azeri hackers

          15.08.2009 12:19 GMT+04:00

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The economy ministry of Armenia has issued a formal disclaimer of information, that Azeri hackers allegedly broke the ministry’s web site.

Stepan Aslanyan, director of Smart systems, on August 13, at the Armat press center told journalists that the web site of the Armenian economy ministry and a number of other official sites were hacked on Friday by Azerbaijanis and have not been recovered until the day of the press conference.

The ministry of economy of Armenia issued an official statement on the matter, saying in particular the following: “the ministry of economy had not been subjected to hackers’ attacks, including Azerbaijani, and hasn’t been broken. The content on this site remained unchanged.”

On August 14 www.mineconomy.am web site within two hours was not accessible due to some technical problems, which were quickly resolved by professionals, the disclaimer said.

These problems, as noted in ministry’s disclaimer, could not negatively affect visitors. Official website of the Ministry of Economy of Armenia continues to operate smoothly.

            Azeris twisted Pinto’s words

Diogo Pinto, Secretary General of European Movement (EM) presented EM’s position on Karabakh issue on August 13 press conference in Azerbaijan. Mr. Pinto underlined: “European Movement welcomes the peaceful negotiations on Karabakh issue settlement. We support two main principles — territorial integrity and the right of Nagorno-Karabakh people for self-determination.”

Armenian Board of European Movement made a statement, saying that Azerbaijani mass media, Today.az in particular, twisted Pinto’s words. That is Azerbaijani newspaper spread misinformation and presented Karabakh settlement issue only in the context of territorial integrity.

In response, Secretary General stated that Azeri journalists lied and article by Today.az is misinformation.

The main purpose of Pinto’s visit was to extend cooperation with Azerbaijan within the framework of Eastern Partnership program.

A great tool Armenia could use in the information war against Azerbaijan and Turkey: link them to so-called "Al Qaeda".
              ------------------------------------------------------------------
Azeris and Turks alleged of link with Al Qaeda

Citizens of Azerbaijan and Turkey were seized in Pakistan suspected of having links with Al Qaeda.

Azeri mass media reported 30 people (14 Azeris, and 16 Turks) arrested at check-point bus heading from Balujistan to Pishevar.

However, Azerbaijani Embassy in Pakistan has not confirmed the information and said Pakistani law enforcement agencies provided no information on detention.

The difference between this site and the azeri site is the azeri site twists words into there favor even if the article isnt in there favor. Im just glad we have a site now that, like you said, counters all that azeri bullxxxx. I was wondering when Armenia would counter all that filth spread by the azeris.
