Azeri media unable to provide information


Proudly calling Nakhchivan the Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan, Azeri mass media (including news agencies) apparently have no access to general information.
Today, Nakhchivan hosts 9th Summit of the Heads of Turkic-speaking States. According to the scant information, Ilham Aliyev and Abdullah Gul will attend the event.

Meanwhile, 1News.az agency (seeing itself as Azeri media leader) says nothing about the summit. Furthermore, the agency informs of the event referring to Kyrgyz source CA-NEWS (KG), that reads: “On October 2-3, the 9th Summit of the Heads of Turkish speaking States will be held in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. The Nakhchivan Declaration and Agreement on Establishment of Cooperation Council of the Turkic-speaking states will be signed at the Summit.”

First Summit of Turkic-speaking countries was initiated by Turkish President Turgut Ozal back in October 30, 1992 in Ankara. Leaders of six countries — Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan participated.

Wishing the Summit delegates productive work, NEWS.am states that Nakhchivan has entirely dropped out of Azeri information realm.

Brochures and DVD-disks distributed by Armenian delegation in the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) has caused discontent of the Azerbaijani delegation.

"Azerbaijani delegation officially applied to PACE chairman on this regards. Now Armenians' actions are condemned here. PACE chairman called head of Armenian delegation, spoke with him about it and explained that such actions were inadmissible," PACE Vice President and head of Azerbaijani delegation to this organization Samad Seyidov said.

Members of Armenian delegation distributed brochures and DVD-disks with distorted historical facts concerning Nagorno-Karabakh conflict among participants of the session.

Bernard Fassier: Nagorno-Karbakh’s recognized status to put end to threat of war

The involvement of Nagorno-Karabakh in the negotiations does not depend on the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, stated Bernard Fassier, French Co-Chairs of the OSCE Mnsk Group. Nagorno-Karabakh representatives participated in the negotiations before, but thing changed because of the Armenian side’s decision, he said. Fassier pointed out that Nagorno-Karabakh’s involvement in the negotiations depends not only on the Armenian side, but, to a certan extent, on the Azerbijani side.

The French Co-Chair also said that the Nagorno-Karabakh problem will be solved under agreements reached with Baku. Azerbaijan recognizing Nagorno-Karabakh’s status will put an end to the threat of a new war, Fassier said. With international guarantees, it becomes much more serious, he said.

Fassier expressed hope that the Armenian-Azerbajani presidential meeting that is to be held in Kihshinev, Moldova, will really take place.

We would remind you that OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, Robert Bradtke (USA), Yuri Merzlyakov (Russia) and Bernard Fassier (France) arrived in Nagorno-Karabakh today as part of their regional visit. They held a meeting with NKR President Bako Sahakyan.

Guiding themselves by myth and rendering it as truth, Georgian theoreticians have invented the term “Armenian migrants”. Such concept should apply to Mingrelians as well, however, authors carefully circumvent the issue. Javahk problem was created by Georgian authorities which make fruitless attempts to violate fundamental the human right to think, read and speak in one’s native language. They are attempting to “Georgianize” an entire Armenian region, forcing its population to seek assistance from their compatriots,” Davtyan said.

Sure no preconditions would be better and sure i would love to see our lands returned, lost properties compensated for, the dead respected and commemorated but we live in reality not in my or your imagination. Those deals are not on the table for us to sighn and never will be thus we need to work with what we can get.

They will be on the table if Armenia becomes a regional power. With the way things are going in the region, it may happen within our lifetimes.

i would love to see our lands returned, lost properties compensated for, the dead respected and commemorated but we live in reality not in my or your imagination. Those deals are not on the table for us to sighn and never will be thus we need to work with what we can get.

Would you make this same statement to an Azeri ( as an Azeri ) regarding the liberated lands.

The deals you see are put togather by Russia, it decides what is on the table and what is not for armenians and azeris or turcks and armenians to sign. Whichever way it decides is the way things will be. Armenia is Russias ally in the region and the only country tottally dependent on it so most of the time it will decide in Armenias favor. Russia supplies allmost all the weapons to both Armenia and Kharabagh along with a lot of other things so we pretty much gotta do what it tells us to do.

It's pretty much a chess game between Russia and US/Israel. Armenia is just a pawn, but an important one. The U.S. is in decline and slowly losing its strangle hold on its allied countries, those on the side of Russia will naturally rise to power. I think we're going to be seeing some interesting times ahead. Now if we can only shut up that pesky Kasparov....
