Re: Nagorno-Karabagh: Military Balance Between Armenia & Azerbaijan
Are they ready to loose 9/10 th of their oil wealth? As far as I know more they have it the more they can loose. One big effect of any war is the cost. Looking at any oiled country's politics it is evident that their main objective is to protect it.
Our military's shows are intended to make them think about what's at stake.
Compared to iran-iraq war or US iraq wars the oil platforms to be burned are not operated by azeris. Will the foreign companies come back to rigs that have been damaged and can be damaged again, if azeris show that they are stupid enough to put them at stake for occupying Artsakh at any time?
Saddam put his oil rigs at risk for land grab from Iran, look what happened. Later, he could never repair the war damage to oil industry and pay the cost.
If we bomb azeri rigs and pipeline, allready slumping industry may never return to normalsy. True, it may draw turkey into conflict, but turks should know that there is no gain after our military has done the damage. Their actions will free bear's hands only.
To make myself clear.
The whole azeri buildup so far was to guarantee them that they can liberate Artsakh. But Armenia's military buildup shows them that there is going to be a biiger issue at stake, that, they can never guarantee against. The cost to their livelyhood, oil. Without that wealth the very existance of today's azerbaijan will be at stake.
