What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

Let us pray we'll make it to 2016 without war. We've come a long way in Artsakh, where the scars of war have been greatly reduced and there having been significant progress made in the outer regions of the Artsakh Republic. War would literally erase 22 years and hundred millions of dollars of work in a few minutes. If we can make it to 2016 without war, with the baboon oil approaching the end of its lifespan, war after that would be less likely. The next few years are probably more crucial than anything that follows or anything that has preceded it since the war, which is another reason the customs union was a necessary course of action.

Azerbaijan Protests Against ‘Missile Supplies’ to Armenia

YEREVAN (RFE/RL)—Azerbaijan has reportedly protested to France and Germany against the apparent acquisition by Armenia’s armed forces of anti-tank missiles jointly developed by the two NATO member states.

The complaint reported by the Azerbaijani news agency APA on Thursday stems from a photograph of the MILAN anti-tank system that was posted late last month on Razm.info, an Armenian news website specializing in defense and security. The online publication said the picture was taken last year during an exhibition at Armenia’s Defense Ministry that featured weapons manufactured or modernized by Armenian companies.

It said the French-German guided missiles produced since the early 1970s were upgraded with Armenian-made electronic devices. Razm.info called the Armenian army’s possession of MILANs a “serious development.” No further details were reported.

Azerbaijani news agencies were quick to pick up the report. Citing unnamed military sources, APA said that the Azerbaijani authorities have demanded that the French and German embassies in Baku explain “how those systems ended up in Armenia.”

France’s ambassador to Azerbaijan, Pascal Meunier, told reporters in Baku last week that the French government is “investigating the credibility of that information.” He said French or German arms sales to Armenia are “very unlikely” because they would violate a Western embargo on arms deliveries to the parties of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

MILAN’s current principal manufacturer is the Euromissile consortium based in France. The missile systems originally designed by French and German companies in the 1960s are also license-built by several other NATO member states as well as India. They have been in service in over 40 countries.

The Armenian Defense Ministry declined to confirm or refute the MILAN acquisition on Thursday. The ministry spokesman, Artsrun Hovannisian, told RFE/RL’s Armenian service only that Armenia is continuing to “develop our defense capability.”

Speaking to journalists last December, the commander of Karabakh’s Armenia-backed army, General Movses Hakobian, listed anti-tank rockets among new weapons which he said were supplied to his forces in 2011 and 2012. He did not elaborate on their type and origin.

The news of Armenia’s purported possession of MILAN came just days after it emerged that Russia has begun supplying roughly $1 billion worth of new military hardware to Azerbaijan. According to the Russian media, the arms consignment purchased by Baku includes more than 90 battle tanks. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at an ensuing military parade that his country will continue buying weapons to force the Armenians to give up control over Karabakh and surrounding territories.

lol I don't know where you get the audacity to complain when someone purchases defensive weapons right after you buy the worlds most advanced offensive weapons. Great to know though that with all of this weapons their military abilities are still rated worse than Armenia

I feel as if Azerbaijan is trying to get a negative reaction out of Armenia. I feel, If we were to strike back or retaliate Armenia would be labeled as the war monger or the aggressor.
Also, I feel as if Armenia is hiding not just somethings...but a lot of things. Since T-90s are fairly cheap compared to the Abrams and Merkava, I do sincerely believe that Armenia has some T-90 tanks stashed away somewhere. Not alot, but a small amount.

I was just watching a video about top 8 guided antitank missiles(man portable ATGMS) in the world and NO#1, as the best, was russian Kornet 9M113, by payload, penetration and range parameters.Going by the scores. MILAN ws the second.
            Here is the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGxDogb-FnQ
I don't believe it, but I think even if it is just a propaganda, it still gives valid point, as to why the Kornet is placed at the top.
            What you guys think?
I'd like to know also opinions about how easily T90 can be taken out. Included azeri crew's past performance where at the first explosion around, they tended to jump out of tanks and run away.

Well, we can just exclude the RPG-7s, they of course would not be able to bring a horrible end to T-90 with ERA. Although, the RPG-29 did outperform RPG-7. Kornet was not able to do it with ERA..So what does this tell us? Will MILAN be able to do it?

So RPG29 penetrates both T90 as well as T80 with allmost 60% success. Konkurs appears much less effective. RPG29 is the medicine for T90 then. And we have them. Can we say based on the video link provided above by me, that if Konkurs is supposedly better than Milan, and from the link by Federate, RPG29 is better than Konkurs, then we should stick to RPG29s and have as many as we can? Is it naivette?

I just was reading around and found out that both American and Israeli armies are at loss in protecting their tanks against russian shoulder fired missiles. As a matter of fact, Israel has decided to stop production of merkava in 4 years because of high losses in last war in Lebanon. The merkava is too expensive and the loss is a great problem. It's like putting all eggs in few baskets for handling the cost of war.
Then a conclusion, If merkavas were supposedly one of the best tanks, made for tank blitzkreag in deserts and they got bogged down in Lebaneese hills and were picked up so easily by hezbollah fighters with just shoulder fired missiles, then, in mountains of Artsakh and Armenia, T90 or T80 or any tank would not be very effective factor, or they would all be easy picks.
                      MMMMMMMMMMM
Maybe we return to the square one again. It is all about fighting morale and skills of soldiers.
