Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!


2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

    YEREVAN. – The third stage of Armenia-Russia joint military drills was held at Alagyaz range on Friday (photo).

    The servicemen of Russian military base in the Southern Military District and the Armenian Armed Forces participated. According to the scenario of the third stage, the border guards were neutralizing a sabotage group.

    One of the captives says that a subversive group that had earlier passed into the territory of Armenia is planning to get back to the Ottomania in 2-3 hours. The location of imaginary enemy is disclosed with the help of drones, later the enemy is killed by artillery and special forces.

    The Armenian and Russian sides say the military exercises are held at a high level.

    The military drills involve more than 1,500 troops, 300 armored units, automotive and special military hardware. Exercises are conducted under the supervision of the Commander of the Joint Group of Forces, Lieutenant-General Michael Grigoryan, and will last till September 7.

            I was thinking...

            AK74Ms are said to be cheaper to manufacture no?

            If so, why the f*** are we still using AK74s with wood furniture? When we could be using the 74Ms that offer more versatility???

            Why not buy rifles from Russia's reserves?? We would only need like, 80-90 thousand..Perhaps we might see them in 2015??? I know there isnt a huge difference between the two, but it just seems smarter to have the 74Ms...

              I will take the wood furniture over the synthetic everytime (maybe I am a purist).....you want folded stock then nothing like an underfolder (with wood grip and front upper and lower). The M model does have some improvements (easier grenade launcher, thicker dust cover, some minor internal change, and US style picatinny rails on some).

              The wood gives the AK its soul and character since its unique and alive.....the black its for tacticool guys.

                Its not about looking tacticool or traditional in the end, its about whats best for the soldiers on the ground, and what they would prefer..Its really not much. If the M has improvements and no cons then why even keep the wood furniture versions around? It wouldn't really cost much, depending on the deal Moscow is willing to accept...Besides, if we were to manufacture our own, wood wouldn't be the way to go..synthetic, I believe, would be cheaper.
                What Armenia needs to do is slowly build up and create a Ministry of Defense Industry to rival Azerbaijan, and manufacture AK-74Ms under license. Maybe even some K-3s instead???

                I saw in an article, that this was proposed to the government, and was being considered. We have the ideas and designers, we just need to get the factories and machines...Tacticool and unnecessary gear would be, stuff like tactical gloves and glasses. Its just not necessary.

                Armenian President Serzh Sarkisian and his National Security Council have approved a five-year plan to modernize the armed forces, including the acquisition of long-range, precision-guided weapons.



                Seems as if they were either bluffing, or just couldn't properly allocate the funds for the projects within the still progressing modernization time frame, already 4 years in. (1-2 more years to go)

                    One thing about side folding syntactic stocks that I have heard is that they do not make a good hammer.....with the wood you can break rocks or.....no problem.

                    Also when side folded (even wood) it gets in the way of te trigger a little for right handed people because the AK was designed for us lefties
