Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

So two more Armenian soldiers have been killed and this time the attack occurred at 9:00 AM. It seems that Tavush is a weak point in the defensive lines. I can only hope that defensive positions are being fortified and surveillance is 24 hours a day. These attacks are either being thrown off with the Azeris suffering casualties (though this cannot be confirmed but is probably the case) or the Azeris are having their way with Armenians and launching quick attacks to demoralize and inflict Armenian casualties. Its time for the Armenians to bring heavier equipment to the line to assist in defense.

and re-adjust the border to optimise security.

This cannot go on without a full blow-out.
We might as well take some initiative.

The name of the game is not having a better score as far as the killed are concerned.

Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.
Great politicians pursue the National interest and small politicians personal interests

Agree. The Tavush sector is huge concern and defense needs to bolstered/adjusted. I can tell you that currently their are several development initiatives in the region from the diaspora to assist and develop the agrarian sector with the local population (one of which I know about quite well) and more security is necessitated. A wall is currently being constructed in certain areas to protect the local population and more troops have arrived but the Armenian government was far too complacent for years in the northeast. This was probably because they figured the Azeris will not concentrate a large scale offensive or multiple attacks on Armenia proper/ outside Artsakh or Siunik. On the contrary, the Armenians need to take more initiative in this sector while bolstering defense and counter-attack capabilities in Tavush. This region has huge potential for economic growth, tourism/eco-tourism, crops, etc ( it truly is an untapped resource and fully underdeveloped from Soviets until the present- again, huge potential) and of course it is strategically located. If a war was to begin in earnest, any Armenian counter-attack and action toward the Azeri energy infrastructure, as well as putting the Mingechaur, Gandzha, Yevlakh, Agsatfa at peril (essentially cutting off a wreaking havoc in northwest Azerbaijan) would have to be conducted from Tavush. As with this summers action in Nakhichevan, Armenian forces must adjust the frontline or at least re-fortify, enforce, etc this sector. I understand that Armenian forces and defenses must be strong everywhere and this adds a strain but something needs to be done.

Here is something from Karvahcar according to Armenian sources:

Four Azerbaijani servicemen have been killed this afternoon, Spokesman for the Ministry of Defense Artsrun Hovhannisyan said in a Facebook post.

According to him, the Azerbaijani side continues its impudent policy towards its own soldiers and their relatives.

Hovhannisyan informs that three servicemen were killed near Karvachar, while the commander of the snipers group fell from the Armenian female sniper’s shot in the south of Artsakh.

“The citizens of Azerbaijan should know that their sons fall disrespected by their own leadership,” the Spokesman said.

The fact that the Azeris have decided not to report their losses means that they have plans which include operations where they will be taking heavy casualties. They are definitely escalating the situation and I think the reason for this escalation is the fact that they feel that this is the strongest they will get and that after this their advantage over Armenia will diminish. This has everything to do with the falling price of oil. With the supply up oil prices have plummeted leaving the azeris with a bunch of weapons they had bought and budget schedules that need massive readjusting. Alieve will need a boogie man to blame for the deteriorating economic situation and to hide his own theft. This leads to the sharpening of antiarmenian propaganda and a restart of the war. Their military has been probing last few months. Many, including many here have been calling it senseless violence and loss of lives but it is not senseless for the azeris because they are gaining information about our strengths and weaknesses by testing them. All of this seems to be leading to the restart of full scale hostilities because those oil pipes which we threatened to blow up in case war broke out are simply not as valuable anymore. I am afraid war is already upon us.

Agree 100%- price of oil has fallen drastically, Azeri oil reserves have reached their peak and dwindled, huge cash reserves are needed to bolster the over-inflated budget (particularly the military one), Russia is pre-occupied, the West's growing disdain for Aliyev and dropping support internationally for his clan, growing schism/fault-lines between Christian and Islamic nations even when marginally religious- this might be their one shot. Time to be ready.

100th anniversary genocide commemorations, tension on the border with Absurdistan and the Gyumri massacre are all interconnected connected because something big is going down.
