Re: Nagorno-Karabagh: Military Balance Between Armenia & Azerbaijan
High concentration of AA systems can prevent an air force from even being deployed in a region. Ukraine is a perfect example, when was the last time you heard of an Ukr air strike in the East? Russian air defense units have set up in the region with Pantsir-S1 and Buk.
Artillery would be fine for ground support
The Azeri T90s are a large issue, because Kontakt-5 cannot be penetrated by current Soviet AP rounds, even slightly older American ones couldnt get through it.
Combine Kontakt-5 with T90s reinforced composite armor and mantlet...you got a tough as xxxx tank. Big issue if they know how to use it.
Armenia needs better ERA for its tanks...
T14 is estimated to cost 7 million per vehicle, not alot for that kind of tank. Russia is eager to export it to pay for its at home manufacturing costs, Armenia can easily purchase them at possible knocked down prices..(not by much of course)
A small amount, maybe 30-40 purchased over a few years, can easily spearhead Armenia's armored force.
