- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

    Azerbaijani army prevents Armenian sabotage

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. Azerbaijani armed forces have prevented the sabotage of Armenian armed forces, Azerbaijani Defense Ministry told APA on Dec.4.
In recent days, Armenian armed forces have attempted to expand their subversive activities along the contact line of troops.

Armenian armed units, trying to take advantage of the military-political situation in the region, attempted to attack Azerbaijani positions on various parts of the contact line late Friday.

Azerbaijani armed units detected the enemy in advance and resolutely prevented the actions of the enemy. Armenian forces were forced to retreat by suffering heavy losses. The number of their losses is being specified.

One Azerbaijani serviceman, ensign was wounded during the firefight. After receiving first aid, the serviceman was taken to a medical station. His condition is stable and under control.

The defense ministry states that Azerbaijani armed forces fully control operational situation along the contact line of troops and stand ready to prevent any action of enemy.

Azeri workers rescued from oil platform fire in Caspian Sea - TV

Forty two workers have been rescued from an offshore oil platform that caught fire in Azerbaijan's sector of the Caspian Sea, Azeri independent TV ANS said on Friday.

Azeri state energy company SOCAR was not immediately available to comment.

SOCAR said earlier that the fire started after a gas pipeline on the platform was damaged in heavy wind. It said the rescue attempt was being complicated by a heavy storm.

One of the workers called a Reuters correspondent from the platform and said there were 84 people trapped. The worker did not want to be named.

SOCAR also said earlier that workers were missing after an accident at another offshore oil platform during the storm. A search-and-rescue operation was underway, it added.

Fourteen workers were killed in accidents on SOCAR's oil and gas platforms in 2014.

Structures collapsed at the offshore platform #441 of the Narimanovneft oil and gas production department on Oct. 23, according to an official message from Azerbaijan’s Sate Oil Company (SOCAR).

Following the incident, workers’ locker room on the platform fell onto a gas pipeline with a diameter of 700 millimeters, which caused a fire.

The Emergency Situations Ministry, the Vortex-5 fire ship and the vessels of the Caspian Sea Shipping Company are involved in extinguishing of the fire.

An investigation on the incident is underway.

I used to be a deck hand on a 220 ft, 500 ton, 12,000 HP supply boat (big tug) taking supplies to an offshore oil rig stationed about 30 miles offshore (abeam) of mount st Elias. Rough water in that neck of the pacific.
The seas were so bad one time that we had to take a 30,000 lb (15 ton) anchor to the rig because it started to drift.
The amount of "incidents" indicated in the two above posts strikes me as being way too many. Those kind of numbers would cause an emmediate shutdown and qualities procedural evaluation by operator co. up here in Alaska.

                      Fighting Again Escalates In Karabakh

An Armenian soldier was killed by Azerbaijani forces in Nagorno-Karabakh early on Friday just hours after the United States, Russia and France urged the conflicting parties “in the strongest possible terms” to avoid ceasefire violations.

The Karabakh Defense Army said the 20-year-old soldier, Erik Grigorian, was shot dead in an overnight Azerbaijani commando attack on its frontline positions in Karabakh’s north. It said Azerbaijani forces also violated the ceasefire regime by firing 240 mortar shells and several rockets at various sections of “the line of contact” around Karabakh.

In a statement, the Armenian-backed army added that its frontline troops are taking “punitive actions to suppress the aggressive enemy activity.”

Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry claimed the opposite, however, saying that Armenian forces themselves attacked Azerbaijani positions and suffered “big losses” as a result. It said one of its servicemen, a warrant officer, was lightly wounded in the firefight.

According to news reports from Baku, two Azerbaijani soldiers were killed on the Karabakh frontline earlier this week. The Azerbaijani military confirmed only one of those combat casualties: Fariz Novruzov. He too was a warrant officer serving on a contractual basis.

Armenian and Azerbaijani commando units mainly consist of contract soldiers.

Late on Thursday, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and a senior French official issued a joint statement expressing serious concern at this year’s “significant escalation in violence” on the Armenian-Azerbaijani frontlines. “We appeal to the sides in the strongest possible terms to reduce tensions and protect lives,” they said.

Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian condemned the ensuing deadly incident in Karabakh as “Baku’s response” to the mediating powers. He insisted that Kerry’s and Lavrov’s appeal was primarily addressed to the Azerbaijani side.

“Who is threatening to use force and restart war? Armenia? We’ve never done that,” Nalbandian told reporters in Belgrade. He argued that Baku also continues to reject the mediators’ proposal to set up a mechanism for international investigations into truce violations in the conflict zone.

Nalbandian further announced that the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan will meet later this month. But he gave no specific dates or venues for the meeting which the mediators hope will revive the Karabakh peace process.
