Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Oil reserves in Azerbaijan are estimated at 30 billion barrels, and gas - at five trillion cubic metres, AzBTC Co. Executive Director Ilkham Nasirov said at an oil and gas conference in Baku. "Hydrocarbon reserves in the Caspian region are estimated at 210 billion barrels, which is sufficient to satisfy world demand for eight years. Reserves in Azerbaijan alone are estimated at five trillion cubic metres of gas and 30 billion barrels of oil," Nasirov said. He said that total world demand for oil in 2010 would increase to 87 million barrels per day, and in 2030 - to 110 million barrels per day. According to the executive director, by 2020 the main volume of oil being transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline will be Kazakh oil. "From 2012 oil production is expected to drop at the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields and by 2020-2023 transportation of oil from this block through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline will be insignificant," he said. Nasirov said that Kazakh oil would be supplied to Baku through the Kazakhstan Caspian Transportation System (KCTS). "Work has already been started on the development of onshore infrastructure in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. At the initial stage, in 2010, 500,000 barrels of oil will be transported through the KCTS per day, and later this may increase to 750,000-800,000 barrels," Nasirov said. He said that in the future the capacity of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline might be doubled to two million barrels per day.

Old news, but what significance will this have on the azeris and on the region in 2020? military-wise even...
what happens when all the reserves are all dried up by the end of the century in the Caspian sea?
      Interesting times indeed..

Looks like Armenia and Azerbaijan have come to an agreement on swapping POWs and bodies of dead soldiers. The terms are still pending but this is what it looks like if they make good on their word and trade all their captives.

To Armenia: 6 Armenian soldiers, 6 Armenian civilians (all a single family), 1 dead body (Manvel Saribekyan)

To Azerbaijan: 2 Azerbaijani soldiers, 1 Azerbaijani civilian, 2 dead bodies (including Azeri national hero Mubariz Ibrahimov)

Through the incompetent Red Cross, most probably.

Ukraine to supply S-125 Pechora surface-to-air missile systems to Azerbaijan?
                  October 28, 2010 - 21:19 AMT 16:19 GMT
PanARMENIAN.Net - Ukraine’s Defense Minister Mykhailo Yezhel gave high assessment to Kyiv-Baku military and technical cooperation before the launch of Ukrainian and Azerbaijani Presidents Council.

As he noted, on October 21, Ukrainian and Azerbaijani committee for military cooperation held a meeting, focusing on prospective directions of technical cooperation.

Yezhel specifically noted Azerbaijan’s interest in supply, repair and reconstruction of S-125 Pechora surface-to-air missile system.

As earlier reported by Byelorussian media, Azerbaijan is the only member of the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe, exceeding limits set as to the number of battle tanks and artillery pieces.

Defense Ministry: Armenian armed forces kill Azerbaijani serviceman in frontline29.10.2010 11:30

                    Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct. 29 / Trend K. Zarbaliyeva /

A 19-year-old Azerbaijani serviceman, private soldier Telman Mustafayev was killed on Oct. 28 as a result of breach of the ceasefire by Armenian armed forces on the frontline of Armenian and Azerbaijani forces in the direction of Gazakh region of Azerbaijan, Teymur Abdullayev, spokesman for the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, told Trend today.

Mustafayev was called to active military service by the Salyan military commissariat in January 2010.

A conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts. Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994.

The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, France, and the U.S. - are currently holding negotiations to resolve the dispute.

Armenia has failed to implement UN Security Council resolutions stipulating the liberation of Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding regions.
