Just beware...Azeris (and some Armenians on the payroll of Azeris) will tell you what we have is Iskander-E (270km range) and not M (500km range). Well I know my sources and you can go back and check my posts about us receiving weapons, when some were telling me that Russia is not sending us weapons etc..etc... I posted as early as anyone about it.
What we have is Iskander-M with a range of 500Km. The Azeris can go b*ng the wall.

A very interesting article published at Regnum.

              Google translated version,

Armenia has received from the Russian "Iskander": Azerbaijan can forget about Karabakh

Armenia - the first country in the world after the Russian Federation, received the PTRC, "Iskander". List of contracts in the framework of preferential credit has changed markedly. SAM "Buk" given to Armenia within the framework of the Joint Air Defense System with Russia?

On September 16, Yerevan hosted a rehearsal of the military parade dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Armenia's independence. Sam Parade will take place soon - on 21 September. Rehearsal was very interesting - because passers-by were able to see and remove the video camera and a number of stunning new products, entered into service with the Armenian army. Much of this equipment was delivered from Russia over the last few months as part of a $ 200 million soft loan. Let's see what kind of military equipment to Armenia received and how it will affect the balance of power in the region.
Armenia - the first country in the world after the Russian Federation, received the PTRC, "Iskander"

The main event was the fact that the rehearsal was attended by Russia's most advanced tactical missile systems (PTRC) "Iskander". Information that "Iskander" can be in Armenia for the first time in 2013. The spread of news agency REGNUM informs , but then it was a question about a possible their delivery to the 102nd Russian base in Gyumri.

However, after the event took a different scenario - missiles were purchased by Armenia: contract likely was signed in 2014, and deliveries began in 2015. That is, the deal has nothing to do with the above preferential loans. Armenia was the first country, which Russia has agreed to sell the PTRC - the same Saudi Arabia for several years trying to acquire "Iskander", but repeatedly made statements that the complex of the export will not be delivered to anyone. In this case, the closest ally was an exception.
As for the PTRC, "Iskander" - then it is likely to put in an export configuration - maximum launch range she was reduced from 500 km to 280-300 km, as exports of missiles flying over 300 km, is prohibited by international treaties. However, in the case of Armenia, it is not very important, because the distance of 300 km is sufficient to destroy virtually any target on the territory of the main potential enemy - Azerbaijan. Highest accuracy (circular error probable of 10-30 meters, depending on the guidance system) and complete protection against air and missile defense systems allows virtually guaranteed to destroy any target. Such a possibility is in the hands of the Armenian side will hang "sword of Damocles" over the leadership of Azerbaijan: the outbreak of full-scale war in Nagorno-Karabakh is fraught with the destruction of key staffs and, possibly, and critical infrastructure, including oil and gas. Moreover, at any point in the country. The high command of the Azerbaijani army, too, will not be able to feel safe. In this sense, the supply of the PTRC, "Iskander" Armenia has a peacekeeping function - it greatly reduces the likelihood of a resumption of war.

It is known that the military contracts under the soft loan of $ 200 million were signed this summer. Compared with the original distribution list, as we could see in the parade rehearsal, there is a change. only heavy "Smerch" multiple launch rocket systems were shown the list of suitable equipment. Unexpectedly, it became the system of electronic warfare (EW) "infauna" and P-325U - they were not on that list. But some of the technology or have not yet been delivered, or it appears in the later rehearsals, or the parade: two empty tractor for tracked vehicles may well say that they will be placed rocket flamethrower system TOS-1A "sun" on based T-72 tank. You can also expect a passive electronic intelligence system "Autobase-M."

Delivery systems of Armenia "Smerch" is important in terms of restoring the balance in the field of heavy MLRS: Azerbaijan previously had a significant advantage, since Yerevan had only 4-8 units of Chinese MLRS WM-80, whereas the Baku could count on 30 "Smerch" units. Such a situation is a threat to civilian infrastructure and populated areas of Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia. Now, however, the gap has narrowed considerably, which is another Azerbaijani deterrent to aggression.
As EW "infauna" systems, it is one of the most modern and sophisticated systems of this class in Russia. It was put into service in 2012. Functionality of this complex EW placed on the BTR-80 is very wide - it can be used for combat drones, detection and suppression of enemy communications systems, devices with radio suppression. In addition, "infauna" has a lot of sensitive cameras allowing pinpoint flash shots of rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) and anti-tank missiles (ATGM) and automatically shoot in their direction smokescreen protecting armored column, which included a complex and moving. The system of P-325U provides suppression of radio tactical and operational management units. Such high-tech weapons can significantly disrupt the coordination of the enemy forces, leaving the advanced connectivity without bond.

SAM "Buk" given to Armenia within the framework of the Joint Air Defense System with Russia?

Another novelty in the Armenian army began air defense missile system (ADMS) "Buk". Judging from the photos, or put the most advanced production version - "Buk-M2", or a little older, "Buk-M1-2". Both complexes are capable of fighting air targets at distances up to 45 km and an altitude of 25 km, and they are designed to cover the troops - tracked platform allows to use them as part of armored columns. This system will strengthen the already very dense Armenian air defense system, which is armed with a minimum of 5 battalions of S long-range S-300PT-1 and S-300PS. The use of aviation in the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict before it was virtually impossible (and showed that the April 4-day war), now that the situation has only worsened. If the Armenian air defense forces will continue and further supplemented, even the Turkish aircraft have a "very tight."
It is likely that a number of SAM "Buk" Armenia were transferred as part of the Joint Air Defense System with Russia, which recently entered into force. This approach previously practiced Russia - Free SAM had also Belarus and Kazakhstan.

I wonder what happened to Vrej1915? It is amazing how he disappears at certain points and reappears with a barrage of antirussian posts when convenient.
The weapons sure are nice to have but a thriving economy and a happy population are just as important.
                    Hayastan or Bust.
