1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.
Great politicians pursue the National interest and small politicians personal interests

Azerbaijan tries to attribute any fatal incident to Karabakh side, NKR Defense Army says

                    March 24, 2011 | 21:30
The Azerbaijani side heightens tension in the line of contact spreading misinformation about the death of an Azerbaijani soldier last week, NKR defense ministry’s press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to the report of NKR Defense Army situation in the line of contact was unstable within recent days. In this regard the NKR Defense Ministry issued a statement.

“During this period aggressive actions of the Azerbaijani units were characterized not only by intensity of fire damage, but also variety of used weapons. In this context attempts of Azerbaijan’s official and unofficial propaganda machine to condition tension in the frontline by aggressive actions of Defense Amy are ridiculous.

The recent example of misinformation spread by Azerbaijani Defense Ministry is a report issued on March 23 which says that two Azerbaijani soldiers were killed as a result of alleged ceasefire violation by the Armenian side. This is a regular misinformation presented by the Azerbaijani side. After a trilateral meeting in Sochi (between the Presidents of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia) and prior to it, the armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh continue fulfilling arrangements on strengthening confidence-building measures between the conflicting parties,” said Senor Hasratyan, head of information department, NKR Defense Army.

“By force of habit Azerbaijan is trying to attribute to the Karabakh side any fatal incident in their armed forces caused by interpersonal relations, including cases of March 21 and 23. Doing so Azerbaijan is pursuing two goals: firstly to hide real situation in demoralized army from local citizens, and secondly - to present Defense Army as an aggressive side.

If Baku is really concerned over fate of its guards and rushes to present any fatality as a result of violations of ceasefire, then why the Azerbaijani side not only refuses to implement proposals of the relevant international agencies on withdrawal of snipers from the contact line, but, moreover, periodically violates arrangements on conduction of the OSCE monitoring.

It is clear that the Armenian side, unlike Azerbaijan, not only expresses readiness to implement the arrangements as a gesture of goodwill, but even today continues to refrain from any attempts to aggravate tension. We must conclude that tension in the line of contact between the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh is a result of non-constructive policy periodically and consistently carried out by Azerbaijan. This fact first of all should arouse concern of Azerbaijani society,” the statement reads.

Turkey has declared a freeze-purchase programs fighters F-35
TSAMTO, March 25. Turkey has frozen the program for the purchase of F-35 fighter jets for the reason that the Pentagon refuses to provide access to the codes and the source code of the software intended to control the aircraft systems, according to The Today Zaman.

As stated at the conclusion of the Executive Committee of the defense industry in Turkey (SSIK) Defense Minister Vecdi Genyul, negotiations for the purchase of F-35 have not yielded "satisfactory results".

Nevertheless, the Turkish leadership intends to once again discuss the possibility of concluding a contract for the next meeting SSIK upon reaching the time of its positive results in negotiations with the United States.

According to the Minister, during negotiations with the United States had achieved "some progress" in the transfer of technology, but the "concessions" from the U.S. is not enough that Turkey has agreed to buy aircraft. Another problem the Minister has called the rising cost for the project.

The main problem is that the Turkish side were denied a program source code and remote access codes for the aircraft. Without source, the Turkish engineers will be unable to make any changes to the software fighters. Outer codes are important because they can be used by a third party to control the aircraft and identify the enemy.

In SSIK meeting was also attended by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Chief of General Staff Gen. Ishyg Koshaner.

                      I. Koshaner called the situation unacceptable and said that talks on the F-35 should not end like it did in the procurement of F-16 fighter. When they sell in Turkey in 1980 the U.S. also refused to provide the source code of the software to identify threats, and co-production took place under the full control of U.S. specialists. At present, Turkey is developing a national software for F-16 fighters, which are produced in the country on American license.

At the moment the situation is as follows. Turkey should send to the U.S. baseline information on potential enemy and friendly countries on the basis of which is software for the aircraft. However, according to national experts, the source code is impossible to determine what actually can happen to a fighter, if Turkey will participate in a conflict with a country that saw the U.S. as an ally. Planes can be absolutely useless and missiles will not be perceived as a threat to self-defense systems.
