Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • Iran Recognized Constitutional Border with Artsakh

At the Feb. 19 meeting with journalists Iranian Ambassador to RA Seyed Ali Saghaeyan said that Iran is the only country having common border with Nagorno-Karabakh, thereby recognizing liberated territories part of NKR.

Asked about his stance on possible deployment of Russian and U.S. peacekeepers on border with Iran as a result of Karabakh conflict settlement, Ambassador replied: “Considering that Iran is the only country with common border with Karabakh, we have clear stand on deployment of peacekeeping forces.”

He also touched upon potential aggression against Iran by U.S., underlining that currently neither U.S. nor Israel has the opportunity to commit aggression against the country.

“Definitely we have to take into consideration all options, including military aggression, however Zionist regime has no opportunity to exert pressure and gain victory over Iran. As for the U.S., accounting for its military presence in Afghanistan and domestic problems, it will hardly initiate act of aggression towards Iran,” Saghaeyan concluded.

"Iran supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. At the international level, Iran has always made efforts and will keep making efforts for the return of Nagorno-Karabakh to Azerbaijan", said the vice-speaker of the Iranian Parliament Muhammad Peza Bahonar.
Three days before this statement, the Iranian ambassador to Armenia said that Iran "as a country bordering with Karabakh", has its own opinions in connection with the deployment of peacekeeping forces in the zone of conflict.

The statement was greeted by the Armenian media. Iran was stated to have practically recognized the belonging of adjacent areas to Karabakh. In fact, the strict statement of the Iranian ambassador, meaning that Iran remains a major factor in the fact that the Karabakh conflict has still not been resolved by "peace enforcement" was crossed out by unwarranted conclusions about Iran's recognition of Karabakh.

Such an attitude is particular to the Armenian socio-political thought which has already failed serious political projects because of its jingoistic patriotism, in addition those relating to Iran. Sometimes it is better to chew rather than to speak.

I thought it was eligible for a thread on its own because it's an interesting news. I want to know what Armenians think about this specifically.

Iranian Deputy Speaker's statement mere view, non-official

Iran’s official disposition over international policy can be only stated by Iranian President, Foreign Ministry and Foreign Minister, Ardeshir Javadi, the head of PR department of Iran’s Embassy to Armenia told Panorama.am referring to Iranian Deputy Speaker Muhammad Reza Bahonar’s statement.

Trend News reported earlier Iran’s Deputy Speaker saying “Iran backs Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity. In the international arena Iran has always made efforts and will continue those to return Nagorno-Karabakh to Azerbaijan.”

“The statement of other officials are mere views and are considered to be non-official statements,” the Embassy official said.

He recalled Iran’s Ambassador’s statement saying Nagorno-Karabakh borders Iran, hence, Iran accepts that the freed territories are part of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Russia lauds Iran mediation in Karabakh
          Sat, 01 May 2010 14:38:35 GMT
          Font size :

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Nesterenko
Russia says it has no opposition to Iran's initiative to mediate
between Azerbaijan and Armenia in order to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh
          dispute.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Nesterenko said on Friday
that Moscow does not oppose Iran's proposal to hold trilateral talks
involving Azerbaijan, Armenia and Iran on the Karabakh dispute, RIA
          Novosti reported.

"We have nothing against the meeting. If such a meeting is held,
obviously, it is necessary to wait for the results and then speak of
the possibility of Iran's mediation in the Karabakh conflict
          settlement," Nesterenko added.

He went on to say that Iran's mediation proposal only referred to a
          trilateral meeting at this stage.

Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki suggested a trilateral
meeting involving the foreign ministers of Armenia, Azerbaijan and
Iran to resolve the dispute "through negotiations and on the basis of
          justice."

Both Azerbaijan and Armenia have laid claim to the Nagorno-Karabakh
territory, which is largely populated by Armenians but located in
          Azerbaijan.

Armenia took control of Nagorno-Karabakh in the early 1990s following
a short but bloody war with Azerbaijan in which around 30,000 people
          lost their lives.

While a ceasefire was brokered in 1994, the dispute continues to
remain unresolved despite years of international mediations.
