Re: Kocharian's Return
Respect is earned not given thus if you treat Iranians with respect you may get respect back but you well know Iranians are not respected by Armenians when they visit. As for why the ycome to Armenia well if u dont want them coming to stripclubs and hoarhouses and bars then quit building them-its that simple. O wait hoar houses and bars make boku money so thats why they wont stop building them.. If you want the business you get the rest of the xxxx that comes with it. Armenia has been full of historical wonders for eons but nobody came banging on our doors much did they? Sure cultural, historical, archological tourisms and other types have plenty of promise in Armenia but when you offer tits and cheap booz then dont be surprized that thats what they come for. Its like bringing a cobra into the house but being shokingly surprized that it bit your child.

Re: Kocharian's Return
and I will be honest, because of some of those rowdy Iranian tourists, people in Armenia have a very negative view of Iranians, which is unfortunate because our peoples are friends. I didn't meet one person in Armenia this summer that praised the Iranian tourists or said good things about them.

When it comes to Iranian tourists in Armenia, the reason that some Armenians complain is because some Iranian tourists don't behave when coming to Armenia. For example, had a friend working in a restaurant and he said Iranians would come take off their shoes at the table, and it has happened they even clipped their nails there. They would often create mischief there but because he and the restaurant owner were afraid of them going to the embassy to report them, they didn't kick them out. Some Iranian tourists provoke fights with Armenians because they know that will not be prosecuted as badly, and they have protection of their embassy. You also have a good portion of "tourists" that come and right away ask for the taxi to drive to the nearest strip club, prostitute place, night club, etc. Instead of visiting the rich cultural sites that we have, our museums, our nature, that portion of tourists focus on these things. Now tourism is great for Armenia it brings revenue and publicity to Armenia. I will always welcome Iranian tourists, however, given that they do not act grossly arrogant and also they actually visit Armenia, not just visit the strip club or just to get drunk. We want to promote tourism that highlights our country's culture and history, not highlights our alcohol, prostitutes and strip club.
There are Iranian tourists that don't do that and are gracious visitors, I'm talking about the portion that do. And obviously would not want Iranians or any other foreigner to permanently reside in Armenia.
