    India to send Param supercomputer to Yerevan

    Yerevan /Mediamax/. The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) and the Ministry of External Affairs have signed an agreement to set up of India-Armenia centre of excellence in Yerevan.

    Mediamax reports referring “The Times of India” that the centre includes deployment of Param supercomputer for collaborative research in the areas of computational fluid dynamics, bioinformatics, weather forecasting and evolutionary computing by scientists, researchers and academic users and training to nearly 1,000 IT professionals every year. This centre is proposed to be a major facility for the development of human resources in IT not only in Armenia but also in the entire Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region.

    The Centre of Excellence will have the state-of-the-art data centre with HPC (High-Performance Computing) infrastructure, hi-tech computer labs and lecture theatres, e-learning with video conferencing facility and a rich library.

    C-DAC is a research community of the IT Department of the Government of India and deals with research and elaboration of new products in the sphere of technologies for creating program support.

    Armenian-Indian IT Center to open in autumn in Yerevan

    PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian-Indian Information Technology Center will open in autumn, 2010 in Yerevan. As Vache Kirakosyan , head of High Tech and IT department at theArmenian Ministry of Economy told PanARMENIAN.Net an educational center will be located on the territory of Yerevan State University. The Government has also allocated funds to repair the facilities. The operation of the new center will be financed by the Government of India. The program costs USD 1.5 million. The Center will focus on retraining and certification of IT specialists. "Both Indian professionals and educators from Armenia, trained in India will teach in the new center." This will be a modern educational center, both in terms of equipment, and training programs, " Vache Kirakosyan said.

    India to Finance Film About Armenian GenocideYEREVAN (PanARMENIAN.Net), June 1–Director of Armenia’s National Cinema Center Gevorg Gevorgyan said that India displayed interest towards the creation of a feature film on the Armenian Genocide by 2015.

    According to Gevorgyan, Prokash Sharma independent production center expressed readiness to invest unlimited funds if the Armenian side submits a completed script, as the film should comply with the world standards to secure wide distribution.

    “Albert Mkrtchyan is collecting materials for the film. Supposedly, he will become the film’s director. However, the film may have several directors. We also invited foreign scriptwriters,” Gevorkyan stressed.

    India demanded Armenia’s participation in Istanbul business forum

    The Armenian delegation is expected to participate in the business forum organized in Istanbul by Foreign Economic Relations Board and Trade (Turkey) and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry.

    According to the Turkish Zaman, the Indian side demanded that Turkey invite Armenian companies, too. The Turkish side agreed to the proposal. Five Armenian companies from the spheres of international cargo, certification, agriculture, as well as science and technology will participate in the business forum (August 24-25 in Istanbul) along with other 11 countries.

    Armenian-Indian relations

    This topic should have been made a time ago, as the Armenian-Indian relationships are developing day by day, they have become one of our allies in all kinds of spheres, be it political, cultural or economical, the Indian people support the Armenians. Their influence on the world will become greater the coming decades and they are heading to become a world-power by itself, I foresee a great future between Armenian-Indian relations.
