The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Russia deploys missile cruiser off Syria coast, ordered to destroy any target posing danger

Moscow plans to suspend military cooperation with Ankara after the downing of a Russian bomber by Turkish air forces, Russian General Staff representatives said on Tuesday. Further measures to beef up Russian air base security in Syria will also be taken.

Moscow plans to suspend military cooperation with Ankara after the downing of a Russian bomber by Turkish air forces, Russian General Staff representatives said on Tuesday. Further measures to beef up Russian air base security in Syria will also be taken.
Three steps as announced by top brass:

1-Each and every strike groups’ operation is to be carried out under the guise of fighter jets
2-Air defense to be boosted with the deployment of Moskva guided missile cruiser off Latakia coast with an aim to destroy any target that may pose danger
3-Military contacts with Turkey to be suspended

Sergey Rudskoy, a top official with the Russian General Staff, condemned the attack on the Russian bomber in Syrian airspace by a Turkish fighter jet as “a severe violation of international law”. He stressed that the Su-24 was downed over the Syrian territory. The crash site was four kilometers away from the Turkish border, he said.

Rudskoy said the Russian warplane did not violate Turkish airspace. Additionally, according to the Hmeymim airfield radar, it was the Turkish fighter jet that actually entered Syrian airspace as it attacked the Russian bomber.

The Turkish fighter jet made no attempts to contact Russian pilots before attacking the bomber, Rudskoy added.

“We assume the strike was carried out with a close range missile with an infra-red seeker,” Rudskoy said. “The Turkish jet made no attempts to communicate or establish visual contact with our crew that our equipment would have registered. The Su-24 was hit by a missile over Syria’s territory.”

Russia now plans to implement new measures aimed at strengthening the security of the country’s air base in Syria and in particular to bolster air defense.

Russian guided missile cruiser Moskva, equipped with the ‘Fort’ air defense system, similar to the S-300, will be deployed off Latakia province's coast.

"We warn that every target posing a potential threat will be destroyed,” lieutenant general Sergey Rudskoy said during the briefing.

The Moskva (‘Moscow’) missile cruise is a flagship vessel of the Russian Black Sea fleet and is one of the fleet’s two biggest ships. The cruiser was stationed in Sevastopol but left in summer 2015 after being deployed to the Mediterranean Sea where it joined Russia’s standing naval force in the Mediterranean.

Since September 30, the Moskva cruiser acts as a covering force for the Russian air forces in Syria while deployed in the eastern Mediterranean.

“All military contacts with Turkey will be suspended,” Rudskoy added.

Looks like a larger game is being played using turkey. Few weeks ago the US removed it Patriot missiles from turkey. This latest turkish “back stabbing” most likely had a green light from NATO. The West is using turkey as cannon fodder for something bigger. Now, If I was Russia and wanted to take my revenge what are my options by proxy? How about arming PKK with manpad missiles?

Paradoxically, Russia has not that many leverages over Turkey.
That's the main explanation of the turkish impudence, not only on the ground, but more so on a diplomatic level: Tavutoglu and Ardogan agressive posture.

The 2 elements at its disposal are:
              - really stop russian turist flows: That represents a number of 3 million/year, just after germans. This represent approx 5 billion USD of income. I doubt Russia will do this. But if they really do, this may hurt a bit.
              - Use huge firepower, like massive MLRS (Smerch or Uragan), to eraze from the map the turkoman villages, mercilessly, like it is pounding Rakka. I doubt they do have that kind of MLRS concentration in Syria, but this is possible. If Russia does it, then we can only consider the begginning of the end of the russo-turkish honeymoon...

              =======
1- Cutting gas is not a real option. First due to the market conditions, then Russia is in dire need of clients for its gas...., and Turkey has plenty of energetic options at its disposal...
2- Even if technically the russian jets had the possibility to shoot turkish jets (previous records of same cccp/russian technology / US is catastrophic), it was not an option if the tracking available is slightly accurate. Shooting the turkish F-16 would have been considered as a casus belli, attack on Nato...., since the turkish jets are in security in their airspace, able to shoot anything flying neer their borders inside Syria. The only option, theoretic, is to use ground or sea based S-300 or S-400. technically is a problem, and yet again, it would be considered as an agression against NATO...
3- Shooting turkish jets inside Syria is an option, provided turkish jets come close russian batteries...., less than probable. And the russian assets are too far away to cover PKK targets..., the only one turks do target.
4- Kurds have opted for the US alliance, and it was more than justified option till now, given the rewards they got. Not sure at all, they will play proxies for Russia, against US veto....

I hope Turkish media will tell the Turkish people that air is bad for them so they can stop breathing. I have had it with these barbaric baboons..their time is up. There are plenty of spies in Armenia funded by baboons and their western buttbuddies but there are also people like me exposing them and the likes of Vrej1915. I wanted to give Turkish society a chance to see and admit the truth but as you can see a cat does not change its spot. Time to bend over kitty..here comes the bear.

                    ------
I'm not sure this is accurate.
Other sources say that the russian helicopters are hoovering over the zone, in a search and rescue operation, and one helicopter was shot by a ground launched missile (Manpad? Tow?), but the heli was damaged, not destroyed.
