Originally posted by HayqAn no, Ararat is not an easy symbol to draw and i dont want a necklace or a bracelet of it.As far as making a necklace or bracelet out of it, fair enough. But I wouldn't want the cross hanging from my neck, either. Perhaps something non-religous.

my arguement is the German Iron Cross maybe a cross, but then again it was handed out in atheistic Nazi Germany. Something non religious, hmm, seeing how Armenian history has revolved heavily around Christianity it would be difficult to find any other symbol. And no, i dont think that Ararat is a good symbol...

SO here's my xxxxty, queer german designer-like explanation..
*says with german accent
Tzo...zie Armenian flag is in zie shape of a circle. A circle represents the unity because there are no edges to make people feel apart like in a rectangle. Gut, now..you ask me why katch vartan? Well... He was such a strong man and had a corruption-immune mind (opposite to the armenian state nowadays)...
NOw, now, why is there this colored foild around zie flag? Well..All armenians are not the same. We are az different az zie black und zie white, zie red und zie blue. We are all in our own melting pot..und no exeptions.
Zie flames are a way to tell that we suffered...a way to tell we did not forget and in the end.. a way to materialize vengeanceLast edited by !EEK; 12-12-2004, 11:37 AM.

I don't know what symbol or to give an example of it, but Armenia needs and has earned a right for strong symbol. Something that symbolizes power, strenght, unitry, etc...A cross should be incorporated into that, but it shoud have additional charactersitics on top of that.
