    Police wielding batons against a demonstrator in Baku today. Officials later denied they used force against protesters 21 May 2005 (RFE/RL) -- Riot police armed with shields and batons intervened on 21 May to prevent scores of would-be participants from reaching the venue for a planned opposition rally and march in Baku, RFE/RL's Azerbaijani Service reported.


    Many have accused police of being heavy-handed with demonstrators Prague, 23 May 2005 (RFE/RL) -- There has been sharp international criticism of the way the authorities in Azerbaijan prevented opposition activists from holding a demonstration in Baku on 21 May. The United States and the OSCE were among the most outspoken critics of the police's use of violence. Dozens of opposition members were arrested and some remain in detention.

    That is positive that at least they make some protests against the corruption.
    But the situation is not better at all neither in Georgia or Armenia.It was just few months ago that the Gerogian Primse Minister died in his flat from ''mysterious reasons.Who can forget that the Mafia which controls the state and the politicians entered in the PARLIAMENT and murdered eight politicians and
    Prime Minister Vazgen Sarkisian , because he was opposed to the corruption and their interests .Is anyone even punished or does anyone know what was that assasination about , or are there even LAWS in Armenia?
    I honestly don't see a reason to discuss about Genocides and Turkeys when the 50% of the income of the country is eaten by the politicans of ALL political parties and they build Vila's on the top of mountains while the people have struggling to survive.
