Re: The Situation of the Yezidis in Armenia

Looks like the pot is calling the kettle black. Kurds took over Armenian homes and help assist the Turks in the genocide and now you want us to feel sorry for you. I don't believe the article. Remember, what goes around comes around.

You see... We've heard the Armenian side of the story, so we tend to think that it was the Kurds who did such things, but why the hell would we, with the mentality we tend to have, claim we did the same to minorities in our lands?

That is why I'm interested in finding out if we're covering up our own ruthless acts.

We should not reject these claims based on grounds that they've done this once before... I don't see how one claim logically cancels out the other from being true.

No. Azeris fled by themselves or because of villagers or the army during the Artsakh war. Kurds fled in the same way that Armenians fled: for reasons of poverty. There are still many Kurds living in Armenia, mostly in villages. They have right to their own language, to their own newspapers, to their own radio-stations, to their own religion. From that perspective, the Armenian government is very lenient towards the Kurds. If there are stereotypes, they come from the people, not the government. If the situation of Kurds in Armenia was as bad as this person claims it is, we would have surely heard of it. Why should the international community have no fear tapping Turkey on its fingers for maltreating the Kurds, but be afraid to do the same to Armenia? Makes no sense. What this person wrote never happened.

The story you posted is very horrible. I don't see why you should end it with a grin. What's your point, exactly?

The Kurds admit to helping the Turks during the genocide. There is no Armenian side of the story. The truth is that while a few Kurds helped hide and shelter Armenians, the majority benifited by taking over Armenian homes and assets. Many Armenian children left over from the genocide where forced to adopt Kurdish names and convert to Islam.

The Kurds like to play the role of being the victom. Kurds are quite gifted at being sheep herders, tree climbers, and garbage collecters. Unfortunately for them, there are very few educated Kurds. That is why they keep getting manipulated by the U.S. government in Iraq, Iran and Turkey. The sad part is that they keep falling for it. At some point, the Kurds have to realize that playing the sympathy card is not working.

I don't see what they have to gain by writing such fabrications. They often complain of human rights violations in Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran. It shocks me that they would try to also include Armenia. You would think that it would be a good idea to have an allie in the middle east which could help support their claims against Turkey.

For those who are unfamiliar with Kurds, here are a few examples

Of course the USA is in your hands. We have many cats stuck on top of trees. We need good tree climbers to bring them down.
