AGAINST THE SURRENDER OF THE LIBERATED TERRITORY

We strongly believe that any attempts at political gambling or speculations to surrender the liberated territories by no means provide a sensible solution to the Karabakh conflict. On the contrary, they represent a mortal threat not only to the future of Artsakh but also to the integrity of the Armenian statehood. Trapped in a swamp of "constructive negotiations" Armenian politicians do nothing but endanger the very existence of the Armenian nation and make us involuntary witnesses to what can be described as a modern "Munich Agreement" which could leave us in a strategic deadlock and most surely contribute to an unleashing of new aggressions against both the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and the Republic of Armenia.

Today, on May 28th, when Armenians all over the world proudly celebrate the creation of the first Armenian Republic of 1918, we would also like to remind of the disgraceful end of that very same republic in 1920. As a consequence of the so-called "constructive compromises" and "diplomatic maneuvers" by then Armenian government, Kars, Igdyr, the holy Mount Ararat and the ancient capital of Ani were surrendered without firing a single shot. And as a result tens of thousands lives had perished in vain.

We demand and urge the current government and political leaders call an immediate halt to any discussions or negotiations regarding the possible surrender of the liberated regions of Artsakh. We also insist on complete declassification of the information for the ongoing negotiations in view of the fact that concealments of any information vital for the future of the Armenian nation are utterly unacceptable.

Any politician or public officer, regardless of his/her previous honors for serving the nation, who should openly declare or demonstrate a willingness to surrender Armenian lands, will be regarded a national traitor and a blatant enemy of the state.

No one is giving away the liberated territories. Such rumors are a result of foreign manipulations, ones that are attempting to start a social/political upheaval within the Armenian Republic. Several moths ago the big rumor was that Kocharyan and company had struck a deal to sell Artsakh to the Azeris for 9 billion US dollars. These stupid rumors begin circulating around election times... Take it as entertainment. However, it's always good to be vigilant.

Did anyone mentioned anything about Kocharyan that you are running to defend him like a good puppy?

Brainak, other than the Armenian president and his administration who today has the legal right or the power to "surrender" the liberated territories in Artsakh? I knew individuals like you would not the brightest lights in the showroom but you are proving yourself to be extremely dim.

You are right, online petitions don't generally accomplish much, but this is not really a petition. The goal of this is to show to our government that people will not tolerate the surrender. Also, many people are unaware of what is going on, and by doing this we were trying to raise the issue in mass-media. Actually we were successful in this. Number of online informational web-sites already post articles about the action, also some newspapers (like "Yerkramas", newspaper od the Armenians in Russia) did. Currently we are trying to organize several protests . Particularly, there are people who are organizing protests in Sankt-Petersburg, Russia, on June 10-th, when the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan will meet. Most probably, there will be protests in other cities too. One more time, the participation of every web-resource and every person is very important. The more people we have, the louder our voice will be. So please, if you guys and the administration of the forum do share our concern, please let us know in this thread

I understand, I've signed it and I'll try to get the Armenians near where I live to sign it as well. I applaud your efforts and hope the land isn't surrendered.
