In Syrian schools they would teach pupils that Iskandaroun belongs to Syria, and that it is under Turkish occupation. For more information, read this article by Al-Ahram Weekly.

          Ottomans

Sorry, but the land of Antioch was always an Arabic-Semitic territory, and is still inhabited by the Syrian Arabs, who do not consider themselves to be Turks. It was primarily inhabited by them before Turkey resettled Anatolian Turks there in the 1930's. Now this land belongs to Turkey, which is a Muslim nation, so it is ok, but rewritting history won't help to apease the tensions.

By the way, about the Crusaders, Seljuk Turks have actually surrendered the Holy Land of Palestine and all the Eastern shore of the Mediterrean Sea (including parts of today Turkey) to the European Crusaders, while those Islamic lands were parts of their empire and they had to defend them. That was the Arab armies who finally defeated them and dismantled their Latin States of Orient, Saladin was their commander, he was a Kurdish Muslim.
