You all should realize that just b/c you are a certain age and/or have experienced certain things, that it doesn't mean one should sound a certain way. Your automatically assuming that she is shallow, stupid, etc b/c she isn't acting mopey and depressed. Seriously, she's quirky but you all are over judgmental, this girl is a breath of fresh air, when taking people like Anderson cooper and other journalists/photo-journalists in comparison. If she was like them, she would go, "Oo look at me! I was in Gaza! And it was sad, and I was just so like sad, like, so tragic. I am so changed. Now give me my medal!" then about 2 seconds after they are like "OMG, (insert cheesey joke to co-anchor)."
At least scout stays true to herself, or maybe it's all a facade and she uses the shallow happiness to cover her depression and remorse over things like Gaza. Either way you all aren't in any position to judge
