Corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Science (RAS), Director of the Institute of Microprocessor and Computer Systems RAS, Professor of the Moscow Physical Technical Institute, Chair of Computer Science, Chief designer of high-performance Elbrus line computers. Lead the architecture and software design of several generations of most powerful Soviet computers. For his achievements in computer science was awarded the USSR State Prize in 1974 in the field of computer aided design, and Lenin Prize in 1987 for Elbrus-2 supercomputer. Currently leads a big international project Elbrus-2000 (E2K) - a new architecture microprocessor, which represents the latest commercial endeavor of Russian most talented computer scientists.
