  • Looks like a good year for Armenian film.

2005 looks like a good year for "Armenian film," or at least movies helmed by Armenian directors.

We have Atom Egoyan's Where the Truth Lies, which looks really interesting. It is about a once successful comedy duo of the early sixties and a young seventies female journalist who tries to discover what happened to them. (http://imdb.com/title/tt0373450/)

There's also Steven Zaillian's All the King's Men, which is a reworking of Robert Penn Warren's acclaimed novel. Meryl Streep was supposed to be in it, put she recently pulled out because of shooting conflicts. She has been replaced by Patricia Clarkson. And just look at that cast. I'm going to be seeing this one for sure. (http://imdb.com/title/tt0405676/)
