        Re: cher

Yeah I read that article by the Armenian Reporter. Kinda ticked me off how they fawned over her like she is such a great Armenian. I mean other than her short visit to Armenia in 1993 (which was a publicit stunt) what has she done for Armenia or Armenians? And then at the end where she is asked if she will visit Armenia again and she says yes but then asks if there are safe airlines to Yerevan now, I mean what kind of question is that? Does she think Armenia is stuck in the stone age?

          Re: cher

Cher is the most famous Armenian Celeberity in the whole world, on top of that shes an American Icon and one of the most famous female entertainers in history thats why the Armenian Reporter fawned over because shes amazing. The visit was no a publicity stunt, she wanted to discover who she was, thanks to Cher the tragedy of the earthquake was broadcast to mainstream media and all over the world.
She gave alot of money to Armenia and food.
Shes American why does she have to do something for Armenia and Armenians to be a great Armenian?
Thats like saying what has Madonna done for Italians or Italy to be considered a great Italian American artist or what has Criss Angel done for Greeks and Greece to be a Great Greek American entertainer.

Eric Bogosian is Armenian-American, he doesn't need to do anything for Armenia and Armenians to be a great Armenian-American actor.

Also someone as famous as Cher doesnt need to do interviews with the Armenian Reporter, she did it because shes Armenian. For someone thats half Armenian whos Armenian father was basically a dead beat dad that says alot about Cher and who she is.

            Re: cher

Have you read the article at all? It even says in there that she went there in part as a publicity stunt. And she didn't donate that much money at all, it was the United Armenia Fund. Do some research before you praise cher like she is some Armenian goddess.
For the first time in more than 600 years, Armenia is free and independent, and we are therefore obligated
to place our national interests ahead of our personal gains or aspirations.

              Re: cher

She is an Armenian goddess, I read the article, no i didn't read that it was a "publicty stunt".. she got alot of publicity for it but it was not a quote "publicty stunt "that is done in Hollywood, she wanted to be there and got publicity for Armenia and the earhquake not for self profit. Read her book "the first time" and found out about who she is and being Armenian and the trip to Armenian.

You should do research yourself and read the article over again.

Well, go kiss her feet then

Anyways, her whole being Armenian thing is just to make her be exotic, otherwise I really do think she would have visited Armenia after her '93 trip; she wasn't that busy.

                  Re: cher

You sound quite ignorant. I think it's really ashame you would put down the most famous Armenian Celeberity and also the only Armenian-American Icon.

She has alot of things to do besides giving interviews to the Armenian Reporter. Tells you alot about her.
