    He was just made the chair of the Sarkozy's political party, a post Sarkozy himself had before becoming PM.

    I wonder if France could one day have an Armenian PM. Not sure what that would mean for us though.

      In the first place Devejian serves Sarkozy's party's (UMP) interests regardless of whether it will have a positive or negative impact on Armenia. However, his efforts regarding this recent Genocide bill were admirable.

        Édouard Balladur was Prime Minister when he lost the Presidential Elections against Chirac; though he was, initially, the forerunner. His presidential campaign and attitude were so austere and distant that he, gradually, lost ground.
        The French page talks about his Armenian background.

        Devedjian is a far more mentally agile and warm person.
