      Re: Easter

since I noticed that Eastern Christian religions (Easter Orthodox etc.) have their easter April 9, and Armenian Orthodox fits into that category , but with the March 23rd Easter it is following the Western Christian calender, which we don't follow usually.

Call Etchmiadzin. I used to think like you do but Armenian Orthodox and Eastern Orthodox are separate. E.g., they celebrate Christmas on January 7th and we celebrate it on the 6th.

Yes, contrary to populat belief (Or, again, Armenian wishful thinking, can you people ever be proud of your own traditions?) the Armenian Apostolic Church split from the Christian mainstream roughly 1,600 years ago and 600 years before the schism that seperated Catholic from Orthodox. To be accurate, Armenians are part of the "Oriental churches" and, no, Oriential has no realitionship with Asia or Asians. Oriental was the shorthand name for everything east of the Roman Empire (Usually, refering to the Middle-East and the Near-East).
