Re: Armenian Mountain Dog or simply GAMPR

There was a article in National Geographic about the Russian breeding program on foxes and how they take only the good tempered and breed them and
within a few generations they behave like dogs! their tails curve upward, they are friendly and trust humans and so forth.

Interesting article. Maybe this has something to do with the present day breeds of dogs in the last thousands of years and maybe man manipulated
    those other breeds too?

Article in the last few months. This is what we have been told by so called science and research as facts on humans and dogs.
Question to ponder: but is it good to do that to the wild foxes? I do not think so. I believe let them live in the wild.
Too much tampering with mother nature is not good in the long run.
    Just my personal opinion.

Bigger Dogs are not pets, they are partners. I got my hands full with my Lab Retriever who has unlimited energy even at 8 years old, gotta take her to the mountains smoking rabbits out of their hole and to the lake for a good swim or she will go nuts. She don't stay inside the house and I have a big back yard where she lives.

I know, they are great.....still a lot of work for me, not being a dog person. Comes in handy though on those camping/hunting trips, that damn nose of theirs.

Labradors are very good gun dogs and tend to have a good temperament! Do you shoot birds?

You have to be crazy to keep one of these Caucasian Ovcharka things, especially if you have kids that you don't fancy being eaten.

Quails, ducks, rabbits.....they can be very tasty if you know how to prep them for BBQ. We feed the Rabbits that have warts to the Koyotes once we skin it and see it. These are not your regular rabbits (jack rabbits) very fast and if you don't use the right load they will kick the pellets right back at you, literely.

I don't do it as often now, target practice mostly.
