For instance, charging a shoplift (you know Winona Ryder style - just going to shove a couple things in my handbag on the way out) as a commerical burglary.

I thought this was ironic. At the Armenian Bar Association mid-term this year in Las Vegas (middle of October 2008), one of the panels will be discussing the topic “Hye Crimes and Misdemeanors” regarding representing Armenian defendants in criminal cases. http://www.armenianbar.org/events/index.htm

After 20 years in existence, this association finally figured out that perhaps Armenians are being treated differently in criminal cases.

I realize everyone has a slip-up and sometime we are persuaded by the 'heat of the moment'. But, if these "Armenians" didn't commit these crimes in the first place we wouldn't have to worry about it. I say let them pay those fines, maybe it'll teach them a lesson instead of a 'slap on the wrist'.

There is no reason that they should face excessive bail by way of an overcharged crime (e.g. treating a shoplift as a commercial burglary).
