i believe the word your looking for is derogatory, but no way in hell armo is derogatory, nobody has ever called me that except other Armenians, in fact i've only ever heard it from Armenians and seen it on Armenian websites.

And you can't compare it to the n word it doesn't even come close, and honestly it sounds to stupid to be derogatory, if you gave some one a choice to choose what armo was short for and the choices were a. armadillo b. messed up nickname of Arnold or c. Armenian, they would pick either a or b, mainly only Armenians and people who know Armenians have a clue what armo means

Maybe the term is derogatory is because of the uncivil way some Armenians act...specially hayastantsis... I dont know ...its kind of new word that has come up only in later years and is connected to the mass flow of hayastantsis coming to USA( because the term is only used there).
