    Re: Name Change?!

I feel literally blessed to have an Armenian last name and would feel even more so if I had an Armenian first name. I can't understand why one would want to change their name simply out of convienence (it's easier for others to pronounce, I guess). I guess I'm not in their situation so who knows.

Documents are only papers it's the name that my parent gave me (Hovsep after my uncle) I feel comfortable with, is my real name. Hovsep and Joseph are the same name (arabic is Yousef)

oh, I forgot completely, I would change my last name so that it will no longer be Turkish, the least I can do is add the -ian suffix like it had been in the 19th century apparently.

on second thought, the name isn't what makes you at all, it's just a marker for other people, something to call you and, something to associate everything they know to be related to you.

But if I was nameless, people would get uneasy, though maybe one day I should field test that.

                Re: Name Change?!

It seems funny but my name changed when I was born. during her pregnancy my mother, and father as well, had already decided to call me Ara but as I was born the same night of Sp Hagop, they called me Hagop -of course after all the interventions of the elders

                    Re: Name Change?!

I'd change my middle name to a name that starts with R, if i could find one i liked, so my full initials would be A.R.A
