Seems like most of you do, what gives? Why hatin on your own people for? Think about it, without us, you wouldn't even EXIST!!

idk, i think it's more mutual though feeling though, and has to do with the way we speak. Like the barskahyes at our church call us the "Oor gertasgor?" armenians, and we make jokes about them being barskahye, but nobody gets angry over it

i agree with you ddd not all hyastancis are bad, just because some get into trouble for being involved in a fight it doesn't make them all bad.

I'm hyastanci living amongst many nonhyastanci Armenians, and the ones that have a general negative attitude towards hyastancis don't even know many hyastancis. They think the hyastancis that are doing well (ie driving nicer cars, living in better homes, owning more property, etc than them, in 1/10th the time) are involved in illegal business, not realizing that most are either doctors, lawyers, or own legit, fairly profitable businesses, who work day and night to grow and continue the success.

They read one or two articles about a couple of punk kids who get caught for fraud in Glendale, and overgeneralize severly, claiming it's bringing the Armenian name that they've built up for the past 90 years down, not realizing it's only a fraction of a percentage that may be involved in something illegal. And that fraction involved in illegal business is well divided between all types of Armenians.

All of the nonhyastancis I've met like me, and seem to think I'm not a normal hyastanci, not realizing I'm just another average hyastanci born in Yerevan, straight out of Glendale.

So in conclusion, I would say those who generalize other Armenians haven't met very many on a personal level. I have, and most of us share the same views, and love the same food regardless of where we grew up.

try not to forget guys taht true armenia is not only hayastani harebedoutyoun, half of present day turkey is true armenia - ie urfa is an armenian city - that is where my family is from.

eastern armenians are not true armenians, and western armenians are not true armenians - we are just different thats all, yeah so hayastan is a bit more russian influenced, thats not a terrible thing -they are still armenian arent they?

and western armenians that live in arab countries or even in usa, france, argentina, australia etc - whilst ill admit some of them are adopting more western (like american type influence), most identify still very strongly with armenian heritage.

and obviously we have good armenians and not good armenians, just like every other ethnicity.

Things got "riled" up because people took this thread out of proportion. When I said "Why do you people hate" I wasn't meaning EVERYONE, THAT'S WHY I SAID WHY DO YOU PEOPLE, not everyone. I know for sure that what I said true, and I'll stick with that. You probably hate me for the same reason I created this thread, why? Because you didn't give a warning to "proudhye" for trolling my thread. Quite perfectly, he proves my point.

You tried to maneuver in a manner where riling things up was inevitable. You initiated the thread and thereby the provocations. Either stop being a kid and post here, or don't.

If you are asserting "Why do you people hate Hayastansis" then it's fair to ask for evidence of what you are basing this on aside from innuendo and imagination.

By the way, I'm born in Yerevan.
