Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

i'm not 100% sure why exactly, but it has to do with the hormones produced. A sudden trend in excesive over production of hair can also be a symptom of thyroid problems, as well as many other things. So basically if your thyroid's out of whack strange things happen

Although, I take a multi anyway and don't really trust "special" blends of stuff that you get daily anyway. The organism uses the vitamins and minerals that it needs or can use and disposes of the rest.
Oh, I thought your problem is simply thinning. If you experience severe/ unusual hair loss then stop browsing on the Net or just looking into some shops to find some products. It is a waste of time; most of these products which may be unreasonably expensive are just garbage. See a specialist and most probably, (s)he will recommend you Minoxidil. It is the most efficient medication available today and it works but as I said you have to have a lot of patience to apply it almost everyday to your scalp, and then clean it and so on... The results are not obtained overnight.

As for multivitamins whether in form of shampoos or creams or any similar form, it does not help that much. I have no faith in them. It's just a waste of time and money. And even if some of them work, as soon as you stop using them, your hair will quickly get back into his previous mode/ shape.

I don't know about your eating habits but if you can't change it quickly then start reinforcing vegetables into your diet, gradually. Vegetables are miracle; you'd better take the juice (especially celery and parsley...) and drink it. Wheat germ is also essential; one of the many things that it contains is zinc. I would strongly recommend you eat wheat germ regularly.

Anyway, I might give one of these DHT on the scalp reducers a go. If it significantly reduces the amount of hair I have on my comb, or just in general reduction "shedding", I'll be happy.
Look, shkara, DHT is a hormone. Hormones are 'dangerous', they have side-effects. I don't know much about this one but it may have some feminizing side-effects like growing breasts or may change your voice or… LOL, you don't need hair at any cost, what's more some bald men (I mean completely bald) are just sexy.

      Lucin,

      What is "touchwood"?

Oh, at one point, I thought I am translating from another language but it exists in English as well. It's an idiomatic expression said when you want to wish good luck or when you're trying to ward off the evil eye. I think I am being a little bit superstitious.

        Re: Hair is going.

It is simply thinning. The thing is that I have had thin hair all my life, so a little "shedding" on the top is undesirable for me.

It is the most efficient medication
I really never want to take any kind of medication. I don't have any bold spots on my head to be considering something drastic.

I eat vegetables pretty regularly. Especially celery. I don't drink vegetable juice. Juices in the stores have toxic additives and preservatives.

Wheat germ? Hmm... I've seen wheat germ oil on health food stores shelves.

Oh no-no. I am not considering the use of any exogenous hormones. I think what i am considering is much less serious in terms of side-effects then Menoxidil.

Incidentally, Menoxidil is advertised under the brand name "Rogaine", they usually show mostly younger men with thinning hair in their commercials.

Anyway, I don't know that DHT has any specific benefit in the human body. It just froms from a colussion of testosterone and an enzyme.

Anyway, the men on my mom's side of the family did lose their hair as they aged. Grandfather and his two brothers were bald on top in their 60s and 70s.

You can take the juice yourself. I do it on my own, it doesn't take much time.

You don't know how they produce the oil. It may have some additives. Just buy the seeds, let it soften a bit into water and then eat with its shell which is not thick, very fine actually. The germ is the embryo within the seed.

Yea, there's the genetic factor as well.
