Re: WWII : Armenian American Soldiers Buried In US Military Cemeteries Of France
I have created a new page : Armenian-American Soldiers Who Died during WWII resting in the American Military Cimetery of MANILA - Philippines :
I have to get in contact with the administration of this military cemetery so that they send me the locations of the graves of these soldiers who died so young.
If you can contact the administration, please do it. This will help me. My English is not so good.
One day if you happen to travel there, please do not miss to put flowers on their graves and to take photos of them so that we can put on to the web.
They belong to the history of Armenians in the Philippines :
http://www.globalarmenianheritage-ad...hilippines.htm .
These graves are testimonies of Armenian past in the Philippines -as great French navigator La Perouse testified it for the XVIII century :
Best regards from Paris. Take care. Nil

Originally posted by hrai View PostCRDA, I've made a list of Armenians in the Manila cemetery and it's nearly double the number you have on your site?
pm if you can.
Meanwhile, friends from Hawaii have sent me photos of the names on graves of Armenian soldiers burried in Punchbowl Cemetery in Honolulu (Hawaii) :
I asked them to organize a religious ceremony of blessing the graves by bringing an Armenian priest from LA or SF.
Also please have a look on the names of American Armenians burried in France : http://www.globalarmenianheritage-ad...ii_usa00fr.htm
I'll contact the Association of Armenian Veterans of French Army : http://www.anciens-combattants-armeniens.org/ .
My father was its President 30 years ago : http://www.globalarmenianheritage-ad...ombattants.htm
You can command this book (I don't have it yet) and please work on it : http://books.google.com/books?id=Lu2...+II.&q=&pgis=1
Our French-Armenian Veteran Association can also organize such a ceremony. I remember my father had told me before he passed away, that in the years 1955-65, this associattion had organized a trip in the province to put lowers on the graves of some of these Armenian American soldiers.
We keep in touch. Take care. Nil (Paris)

Here are some photos of the graves in Normandy. Unfortunately the sun was striking hard and the pictures are not so successful. Years passing bye, the names engraved are less and less readable :
