Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • Large Corporations and Countries Listings in that Organisation's Website

I have a question. How come Armenia is not listed on a lot of large organisation Country listed websites. For Example Microsoft, MTV, Playboy, Apple etc.

Would that be because Armenia is a far too small market for those organisations to list Armenia? Or cause Armenia is too poor to be able to afford the companies products?

What other reasons do you think that Armenia is left out many major company websites?

I think our small size and economy certainly have something to do with it.In addition we Armenians are not as well connected as xxxs and you will see isreal in many of the same places you mentioned even though they are not a big country or a significant economy on their own.
    Hayastan or Bust.

...I don't know if you guys know but Microsoft has officially come to Armenia along with Mac (it's been like two years already). You won't find any pirated versions of any of their games and/or programs for that reason. They are biting down on our throat's, figuratively speaking so don't think that Armenia isn't all that important. If she weren't, they wouldn't be here!

Hmmm.... I hope that doesn't stop you guys from pirating (you know, incase your original CD/DVD gets scratched). Screw them.

I wouldn't have thought Armenia is not important. Just cause Armenia's a very small country doesn't mean that its got potential. Armenia has lots of potential in its own niche in whatever Armenia wishes to specialise in the future.

Microsoft well may have been in Armenia for two years but Microsoft does not have seem to place Armenia in its Microsoft's Contact Information and secondly in the Microsoft Website List.

They many not have an office in Armenia yet, but that won't stop them from exploiting the Armenian people. If Microsoft products weren't available to purchase in Armenia via government, then it would be a free for all for them to mass distribute pirated copies. You know... a "FREE" society.

Don't worry, it won't stop us but it's become very strict here, that's for sure. You can't rent any Microsoft cds/dvds anymore.

              That's kinda strange actually

They many not have an office in Armenia yet
And who said they don't have one yet, Kanada? They've bought acres of land. They've settled down!

Pirating is still going great here ... it's just the Microsoft products that you can't get very easily (like we freakin care, lol).

I thought the corporate offices in Russia would be feeding all the smaller ex soviet satellite countries. I'm sure they have sales offices... but maybe not corporate. Or they are too lazy to update their website.

Re: Large Corporations and Countries Listings in that Organisation's Website

Another good way of Armenia to get dedicated web pages, services and to be listed and recognised from the large corporations would be if Armenia was to developed modern marketing techniques and advanced negotiation skills. Armenia needs to be able to convince these companies that Armenia is a valuable market for these companies to sell and for Armenia to be able to be listed on these prestigious organisations websites and dedicated services etc.

Some good examples of very good marketing, aggressive campaigns modern negotiation/influential techniques that some countries are doing that result in these countries being listed on a lot of world renowned companies world wide would be.

Poland - EU State (a huge market the biggest in the EU's CEE Region. The satellite website issue for Poland does not exist because of the the CE EU States that surround Poland have attractive enough markets and are not extremely poor as in Romania's surrounding Western Balkan and EE Neighbors (Romania excluded EU) so large companies list the "Western Balkans and EE under all the Romanian Dedicated Websites etc" Poland has very good aggressive marketing tactics and this allows companies to be attracted to Poland also Poland is an business friendly EU Member State that's another factor for companies to come to Poland

Romania - EU State (a big and attractive market in the EU's Western Balkan and EE Region. Romania actually is similar to Russia with the CIS Countries Websites, services etc where in the Western Balkans and EE Countries all fall under Romania. This goes for world embassies - including mine (Canada's). The Canadian Embassy for most Western Balkan Countries, Cyprus, Bulgaria are all accredited to the Canadian Embassy of Romania.

Remember Romania is the EU's Regional Power and by far the largest EU Market in the Western Balkans and EE by a long haul. This is an important factor that the large companies take into account. Romania also has very good aggressive marketing and investment strategies that make many International Companies want to Invest in Romania (EU State) and these companies have been Investing in Romania since the 2000s. FDI has surged enormously since Romania joined the West (EU and NATO).
