Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

    Hey Retro,
I live in Hertfordshire. Unusual to see a fellow British person on this forum! Are you of Armenian descent as well as Dutch/Irish, or just someone who appreciates Armenian culture? Do you like Irish folk music?
Do you think (as I do) that the Irish are descended from inhabitants of Armenia?

        Hello Womble

“Unusual to see a fellow British person on this forum! Are you of Armenian descent as well as Dutch/Irish, or just someone who appreciates Armenian culture?”
I am not Armenian, however I am interested in Armenian culture and I would like to visit the country at some point.

“Do you like Irish folk music?”
Yes, I like folk music in general!

“Do you think (as I do) that the Irish are descended from inhabitants of Armenia?”
Today's Caucasian populations are on the whole genetically closer to Near Easterners than Europeans. Presumable as the result of Asiatic/Semitic incursions or admixture. Culturally however Armenia has obviously acculturated Indo-European cultural attributes, over some considerable period of time.

The Iberian Peninsula seemingly holds the most ancient European genetic ancestry. Iberian Celts such as the Irish and Welsh are genetically related to the Basques.

Haplogroup R1b is the Western Europeans (Atlantic) genetic marker.

It is widely believed that R1b originated in western Europe where it reaches its highest frequencies. However research was thought to show that R1b's variance increases as one moves east, leading to the view that R1b originated further east. However R1B1B2 the near universal subclade of R1B in Western Europe reaches its highest diversity in Iberia and Anatolia. Some geneticists now believe that R1b arose in Central Asia or Southwest Asia.

          need some help

The link below is to a beautiful song which Mr Bean "has" managed to bastardize. Unfortunatly it is not the complete track.

I will be greatful if one of the experts on this forum would either provide a link to this song or at least the name of song and singer for me to do the search.
          Thanking in anticipation

Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.

System of a Down even doesn't work for that too.. I mean they should have some more armenian tunes in their music.
Here is d thing about S.O.A.D they might not put Armenian tunes in their songs cuz that's not their style of music, their style is Alternative metal, heavy metal, experimental metal...BUT d most important thing about them is they never EVER shy away from saying that they r Armenians unlike other actors or musician who change their names so they wont be recognized as Armenians... D only reason I started listening 2 S.O.A.D back in high school was cuz they were Armenians....When somebody says S.O.A.D. they think of Armenians & that's huge... They have sold over 20 million records so singing on stage while standing on Armenian rugs, & d Armenian flag is waving on stage during a concerts that is an act that needs 2 me admired & respected...They make songs such as "Holy Mountains" & talk on national TV about d Armenian Genocide.... All d Armenians should love & respect them if not for their music at least for what they r doing 2 have the Armenian Genocide recognized in d US & Turkey governments... check out Serj Tankian's youtube channel 2 see videos on d genocide... I'm sure he has done more then any of us could possibly do for Armenian ppl....

p.s. Despina I must say I'm honored that u listen 2 Armenian music...
