"Been to Ararat" in my book means "been to the top".

Search old posts for what's-his-name from Greece who has an avatar photo of himself (I presume) standing on the summit of Ararat with a flag.

A flag that made much trouble for later visitors.

    Ararat

    Hello people from this forum,

my name is Annemarie, just like Christel (maybe you met her on the forum allready) I work for the Belgian television.
We learned that Mt Ararat is very popular/ famous/ indispensable in Armenia. Now we are looking for THE specialist on this mountain: someone who has been there, who has an interesting opinion about it, who can tell us about the meaning of the Ararat, someone who has photographed the Ararat a lot ... whatever!
Can you help us out! Thanx!!

    Annemarie
