& not trying to be a hypocrite: I am 50% Armenian and I don't speak it/was never taught. But like I said I live in the US. I do not need this language to get by in my environment, thus haven't picked it up.
If I was about to be living in Armenia, or France...even Japan for that matter, best believe I would try hard to be able to communicate adequately.
