    Thank you KanadaHye, it seems to support the notion that Kazarian is not a distortion of some other name. When I google Kazarian, there are 164,000 pages that reference it. I cannot imagine that everyone's name is wrong. Perhaps in ancient times, the name was Ghazar, but at some point by the 1800's at least, it became Kazarian. I highly doubt that it was a distortion induced by the immigration, and thus, must have been Kazarian for at least a couple of hundred years.

    So that begs the question, how would one spell it in Armenian? It seems rather odd to me that on the HyeClub forum, there wouldn't be more who would have heard of it. It's really a pretty common name.

    Any thoughts?
