Thanks for the insight Cartharsis, I mostly agree with it.

Roger started out with Mamikonians being Chinese (perhaps counting on the Asian market, nothing wrong if it is so, but it has to be historically accurate and we do not have substantial evidence for that, he did clarify later on the Mamikonians though)

"Hey let's make a very obvious and terrible Armenian-themed mash-up of Lord of the Rings and 300 with no real experience and no real budget! Wouldn't that be cool!"

So you've seen some parts of the actual movie? I would really like to know if audiences will walk away from the film with an understanding of how the Battle of Avarayr "shaped the course of Western civilization"?

I don't believe it's a movie. I'm under the impression it's a miniseries.

I haven't seen anything beyond the trailer, which is enough.

I saw the trailer when it came out and I love it...............this is the type of publicity we need Hollywood style, even if it is low budget or what not.

I read in one of the press releases that it is being projected to cost $ 60 million. If so, I think this in and of itself makes the whole venture even more burdensome in terms of responsibility towards Armenian history and most importantly the 'message' that the film will project to Armenians and non-Armenians alike.

Well they better get it right...........also I don’t think that it needs to be accurate like a documentary as long as it shows us in a good light. The movie 300 was not historically perfectly correct now was it?

I must admit though the last movie made about AG I thought it was made by a Turkish film maker (I don’t want to remember it, embarrassing).

I am glad that this movie will have nothing to do with AG. We need to change tactics. Everybody who is somebody in this world already knows the truth, I can say that with confidence. Armenians will always complain about accuracy, I don’t care. I do care a lot about how none Armenians come out of it, that is the key.

I think there are many stories (including this one) that hardly need anything other then facts to make a good movie. Armenia long history provides many great scripts for good movies without the need to change anything.
