  • Telethon isn't corrupt, right?

I've heard a couple of people complain about it, but I thought nothing of it at the time, I considered it just a couple of people being random. But out of curiosity, I'm asking here, anyone have anything negative to say?

It's a pretty legitimate organization as far as I know.

It's good. So is Armenia Tree Project.
For the first time in more than 600 years, Armenia is free and independent, and we are therefore obligated
to place our national interests ahead of our personal gains or aspirations.

Depends on what you mean as corrupt, who audits them, and what you consider excusable expenses. A certain degree of nepotism goes without saying. It's better to give the benefit of doubt in charities, be it an organization or a man on the street. A certain amount of discretion is ok also. For example, if they have nice shoes and a clean looking backback on teh side, teh guy might not really be homeless. On the other hand, if he smells, or seems not so sober, he's probably hurting.

There are many charities you can contribute to, but what I mentioned are things you should look into. Some orphanages are corrupt as well, so the 'cause' itself is moot.

The reason our organizations have the bad rap they do isn't because corruption is higher among our people than others, but because the Soviet system thrived on it, we are more aware of nepotism and corruption, and because we are more passionate people and talk about such matters more than others.
