Just because of Business we should not sell our culture, our city, and our women. I rather Yerevan be a little poorer rather than see it flooded with Iranians and all products Iranians and arab. Just because they helped us a bit doesn't mean we should open our asses for them. Like any other large country their just using us, let's not be naive, I can assure you Iran cares very little about Armenia and their relations with us.

If you are worried about our women; well then it's up to the women in there to say no. But overall, Iran is the only country that have good relations with Armenia; politically and economically.

There is a chinese proverb that goes something like

"The big fish eat the little fish, the little fish eat the water-insects, and the water-insects eat the weeds and mud."

Right now, Armenia is either like little fish or water-insects. And I agree with you, Armenia is too small to be liberal.... their cultural can't over power other cultures through liberalism.

As usual the fearmongering/racists make themselves heard. Lets see Iran was our only supporter and friend while we were being incircled by our enemies on all sides. Iran provided us with the necesities of life and allowed us to ride out the war, when i was there during the war Yerevan was full of Iranian goods because that was the only country trying to help and able to do so because of our common border. Be thankfull that we have a neighbor like Iran, that country and its people helped us win the war and survive in the post-soviet period. Today their businessmen come to Hayastan and boost our economy and iran allows our businessmen to do the same there. Morality is a family isuue, you learn morality from your parents-not the government. Armenia needs more neighbors like Iran instead of people sitting around and xxxxxing about the muslims invading p.

I totally agree with you Haykakan jan, I wish a thousand times that Armenia from all sides had good neighbours like Iran/Persia. They are the only true ones that indeed are our good neighbours and wish our prosperity in good faith!!!

Only a fool would bite off the hand that feeds you. be thankfull for their support and business. You need to understand that because of Armenias location it is going to be influenced by many different cultures and it has been all along. Iranians use us as we use them, it is the natural relation with ones neighbors, by using each other-both benefit. We are getting foreighners to come to hayastan, do business and spend their money there and this is exactly how you grow a nation.

I don't think that in 20, let alone, 10 years there will be 100-200 thousand turks living and doing business in Armenia. I see this as a fear tactic being used by those forces which are against the Protocols.

We already have 70,000 Armenians from Armenia in Turkey today. Imagine what this number will turn out (depleting Armenia even further) when the "border" is open and diplomatic relations are established (at the expense of the Armenian Cause/reparations/restitution). Half-impoverished Armenians will naturally look to Turkey as 'equal opportunity employer.' Perhaps this is why some of the Armenian monuments are 'renovated' by the Turkish government. They would have no problem absorbing half a million or even a million Armenians into their 80 million + population. Same thing with the Kurds (and Turks) in the provinces of Western Armenia. Borders would be eliminated, the Armenian-Turkish conflict and the image of the "enemy" will be absolved through Turkish "soft diplomacy."

They must have watched one too many "Pretty Woman" movies. All kidding aside, Armenian culture is truly at risk with the very small population of Armenia interacting with more influential cultures surrounding it. It's a sign of Armenia's weakness.

You can't force people to be moral, as we can see from the actions of Iranians and saudis abroad, because of their highly restrictive laws they go crazy when they are in a more liberal country. This is why Iranians come to Armenia or other less strict nations, whereas the European tourists live in even more liberal countries than Armenia and have a different culture from that of Iran, so they do not need to sleep with as many local girls as possible.

Like I said earlier, this is a moral issue and the only thing we can do is to encourage our people to be more moral people.
