Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • Activists miss opportunity

Abe Foxman was in Beverly Hills on December 9th, 2009 to give an award to Steven Spielberg on behalf of the ADL (which helped raise $2 mil for the ADL) and apparently not one of our so called Armenian-American diaspora leaders took the chance to let everyone who's anyone in Hollywood know that Abe Foxman is a genocide denier.

Proof that those who claim they are leaders in these communities are actually leading noone.

Hmm. You don't think a bullhorn and a couple hundred people surrounding the Beverly Hills Hilton would have been an education lesson (teachable moment) for American J-ewish leaders.

Largest population of Armenians in US are in Southern California, how was he not condemned publicly by Armenian activists here??

No real leaders. Poor planning. Lack of information. Asleep at the wheel.
    All of the above?

Do you think that perhaps these 'leaders' were scared to do such a thing? Afterall, labeling those who disagree with israeli/jooish agendas (rightfully or wrongfully) as an anti-semite is the favorite passtime of joos such as foxman.

      Re: Activists miss opportunity

The tactic is working, if Armenian-American leaders are afraid of publicly condemning Foxman, then it only further proves the point that AG recognition as a platform for Armenian-American lobbying organizations is not really genuine or still not adequately formulated after decades.

Why feed chickens that can't hatch eggs?

Heck, if these so called Armenian American leaders are afraid of Foxman, Turkey wins by proxy. No??

At the very least, it demonstrates that among the so-called leadership the right hand either does not know what the left hand is doing or does not care.

If they don't know what they are doing or don't care, why should anyone inside the American diaspora or other Americans stay informed or act.

The object is to keep the topic in the mainstream. FOX, LA Times, Hollywood Reporter and other outlets covered the event.

"Anti-semite" coming from the mouth of a zionist has little standing. I don't believe moderate/progressive American J-ews necessarily agree with Foxman's tactics or his positions (incl. AG recognition).

But, if they don't see AG recognition activists blasting him whereever he goes, what will compel them to act. If Foxman is made a mockery, it looks bad on them, not Armenian American activists.

This guy shouldn't be able to leave his hotel in LA without someone reading him the riot act. Let him explain to his supporters and others why he has a unhappy welcoming party everywhere he goes. He needs to be placed on a figurative island.

Controversy should be raised to educate the public that Foxman is no more than a David Duke type with a yarmulke on. And, if you are supporting an ADL run by this schmuck, you are actually supporting intolerance, bigotry, and zionist hypocrisy.

Our so-called leaders use the AG for drumming up financial support but when it comes time for creativity and mobilizing the constituents for grassroots campaigning with impact (not protesting in front of the Turkish Embassy again), often grand opportunities are lost.

Heck, its not lost upon me that some activists did go after Jane Harman.http://forum.hyeclub.com/showthread....ht=Jane+Harman

Heck, she has more power to damage an AG recognition activist's reputation/career than fat f*ck Foxman, she sits as the chair of the intelligence subcomittee of the US House of Representative's Department of Homeland Security. (In fact, there is a strong argument that DHS is not secular and has become somewhat of a plaything for American Jooish service organizations).

Foxman has to learn that he has something to lose for his moral incogruity - his reputation and support for the organization he leads.

But, when he walks the streets of LA with nary a peep from AG recognition activists, he
gains confidence that his actions are meritorious and without consequence.

Well put! I brought up the possibility of Armenian-American 'leaders' being afraid to do such a thing because it is a threat that keeps many others at bay, although it is hard for zionists to use this against Armenians since we suffered a Genocide as well, but nonetheless we have 'Armenians' that willingly do it for them anyway.

I don't want to assume that the Armenian organizations fighting for Genocide recognition are only in it for the money, so to speak, because that would just be very sad for the state of the Armenian diaspora of the U.S. Nonetheless, if that is the case then every effort must be made to make the Armenian community aware and hold these 'leaders' accountable. But of course, accusations should be proven, and until they are I'm not ready to start pointing fingers at phantoms.

          Re: Activists miss opportunity

The more and more I analyze the situation, the AG recognition issue is to so called Armenian-American leaders as Palestinian self-determination was to Arafat.

Like Arafat, once the genocide is recognized in the U.S., these so-called leaders win but lose because the air is let out of the balloon.

It seems like our lobbying organizations actually need to lose AG recognition in the U.S. to continue living. Without it, their fundraising opportunities likely evaporate. In reality, they live by losing not by winning.

LOL, that is an interesting and possibly accurate way of looking at it.

But whether this is true or not, the issue is that even if the resolution is passed, it will not make turkey pay reparations or restitution of Western Armenia. In this flawed world, might is right, always has been and always will be.

The constituency (in this case) has to be educated and wise enough to demand from their reps (including lobbyists) that they have to be efficient in this regard. Ultimately, everyone will lose if what you say above (and at least some opportunists are definitely playing this losing game) is true since the constituency will dry up (gradually, or actually not so gradually, joining the "melting pot") while the "organizational representatives" will naturally be left without their constituencies and thus will in turn become obsolete. At least one of the solutions to this entropic stasis would have to be to raise consciousness, we definitely have to be above all of this in order to survive and go forward be it in the Diaspora or the Homeland.

                Re: Activists miss opportunity

The trick is to link the word "DENIALIST" to AG like "anti Semitism" is linked to the holocaust. Actual recognition of the AG by US congress is one thing but making this single word common place in the media and designed to be directed to anybody who denies the AG can become a powerful political tool.

“Denialism to Armenians is in par with Anti-Semitism to the xxxish people” should be one of the slogans.

As far the Foxman, he should have at least gotten egged by Armenian kids.
