I think there are many people who are paid to make Armenia look bad so that no one invests there and that it never gets any help nor progress. It is not hard for people to lie and spread that lie over the internet. This is effective since many people believe what they hear or like many people here they only hear the bad and ignore the rest..The fact is that it is because of help from organizations like the Armenia fund that important roads and projects get built thus corrupt or not they are worthy of support unless you want to go and do it yourself.

Is that a truth you are accidentally saying or one you are deliberately stating.

Everyone knows Aznavour has lent his name to numerous corrupt fundraising schemes and projects in Armenia over several decades. So much so that nowadays anything with his name attached to it is tainted by the implication of built-in corruption. Nobody is saying that he gains financially from it - but he has gained status and positions (such as that ambassadorship) and has displayed a complete lack of oversight of the projects he allows his name to be attached to.

Now serious stuff. The opposition again and again does not stop in efforts to discredit anybody that has anything to do with government.
And some people take it for facts.... true or not.
But in result, they have discredited themselfs to point that ordinary people started distancing themselfs from those like they would from lunatics or plague infested. Look at them in Armenia. Government is in deep problems. But opposition is in Qaqa up to their eyebrows. And it was not the work of oligakhs because of one reason, oligarkhs don't have that kind of intelligency.
There is corruption in government just like there is in general population.
But anybody that tries to come to stage and create an atmosphere without facts and evidence, quickly falls down, because of his own corruption. Just like Jesus said,let the one who has not commited any sins cast the first stone.
It is a small country and everything will come to surface very quickly.
This emboldens the government more.
We will have to see, when there will be change of guard in opposition, to have results.

Armenia is in better position than many post soviet republics and countries in the region. That is a fact. But the fight against corruption should not stop. It needs honest, smart, dedicated grass roots people, like Monte, or Jirair. And lot of them, who are not into any political or prowest/proest influence to start and complete anything meaningfull.
Meanwhile this opposition (most of them) will try to discredit Aznavour, Nune, Vahram and others, because it does not have the moral backbone to cement a meaningfull movement. It can only survive in daily negativism like vulchers seeking corpses to sustain themselfs. But then, vulchers are not the kind to inspire a generation. Such a pity...

You seriously could not be more pathetic if you tried. Aznavour is considered one of the greatest performers of the 20th century. I'm fairly certain he could have attained any position he wanted to in a country most people can't even point to on a map. That without taking into consideration all he has done for the country.

But that isn't even the point is it? The point is, that foolish man's only actual "evidence" is that Aznavour is not mentioned as being a government member on that decision making money. Even if you pathetic claims are true, that doesn't equate to him partaking in theft of money. So yeah, even if he lends his name to other false projects, that wouldn't mean he is a person that is actively stealing. So yes there are only 13 government members on that board.

Furthermore, why does ArmeniaFund have to defend how many government reps are on that board. I don't understand, you live thousands of miles away, you raise money, and you expect to walk into another country (even if its your ancestral land) and build a road wherever you feel like it, without the opinion of the people in charge of that country? Obviously there has to be government interjection. Any charity would have to consult with the government. It couldn't be more basic than that.

It's unreal the things self hating activists like him and morons like yourself expect from Armenia, but would never expect of their superior first world masters. Just like my police example. In Armenia cops are expected to have the calm and serenity of a monk, and take any xxxx thrown their way. I want anyone to try that here in America and see the results.

YOU are the one with the negative outlook. And of course you indulge in the obligatory (for here, or for Armenians in general?) ad hominem attack. (If you don't know what I mean by "ad hominem attack" I think you need to look it up - if you are aware you are doing it, maybe you will stop doing it.)
But backto your post. To you, half of Armenia is collapsing and it is only deserving of the shrug of a shoulder, and a dismisive "it happens everywhere" and "what do you expect when a planned economy ends". I doubt if you have an understanding of what things are actually like for people there. There are no careers for people in Armenia to change too. The only secure jobs are in the state - and for those you only advance through bribery, or through who you know or are related to, or by brown-nosing to criminals or your corrupt bosses. Training or ability or a talent to do the job counts for nothing. The only alternative is the exit door to places in the world that do have career-type jobs with secure futures based on personal abilities and the rule of law.

Armenia is ranked 78th in 2014 World Press Freedom Index published by Reporters Without Borders.

This year Armenia left behind all neighboring states, scoring the 78th place among 180 states. Georgia is ranked 84th, Azerbaijan is 160th, Turkey is154th and Iran is ranked 173th.

The report says the 2013 elections in Georgia and Armenia were calmer than previous ones. Violence against journalists was rare. Armenia’s state broadcaster has progressed as regards impartiality but the electoral environment exacerbated the ongoing information war in the privately-owned media – a war in which the authorities have a clear advantage.

In the region of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Armenia is among noted as a state with significant degree of pluralism.

“The region’s four best-placed countries in this year’s index are the same as last year. Although their positions in the index are fairly dispersed, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan all enjoy a significant degree of pluralism and relatively little state censorship,” the report says.

I have seen all the projects, they have passed expert examination and
are ready for getting a license for construction, chief architect of
Yerevan Tigran Barseghyan told a press conference in Yerevan while
speaking about the construction of a new circus in Yerevan.

According to Barseghyan, the construction of a multi-functional circus
building will be completed in the coming 2-3 years.

The old building of Yerevan circus was pulled down after experts said
that it is inexpedient to reconstruct it.
