Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • Re: Current Condition of Armenia

Armenia's population growth rate compared to Georgia, Albania, and Lithuania. (Lithuania has a similar population size to Armenia, but..well you will see that country is in big trouble) Sources is World Bank and UN. Both put Republic of Armenia's official population at 2.98 million. Including Artsakh, thats about 3,110,000. In 1990 the population was 3.5 million, 186 thousand non-Armenians left meaning 350,000 ethnic Armenians left the country between 1990 and 2014. The number of Armenian citizens is 3.2 million, taking into NKR citizens into account, this means that 100,000 Armenians are living abroad.

Fertility rate increased from 1.5 to 1.65 in 2014. Returning to levels not seen in the last several years. (Last time it was in the 1.6 region was in 1997)

I say we import Russians so we don't become a bunch of inbred weirdos and die out.

MOH: Fertility, reproductive health programs help increase births, reduce infant mortality rate

The number of registered births increased by a thousand while infant mortality declined in 2014 due to birthrate growth programs, according to an Armenian public health official.

Gayane Avagyan, the head of the Maternity and Reproductive Health Division at the Ministry of Health (MOH), says that in recent years many programs have been developed to improve reproductive health and the fertility rate in Armenia.

“Our aim is to reduce the level of infant mortality and infertility. To decrease the infant mortality rate we have provided equipment for infant resuscitation units and implemented the prevention of low-weight infants’ deaths. Due to the above-mentioned measures this year the rate of infant mortality is below 10 per mille,” she said.

Avagyan also referred to infertility treatment programs, mentioning that a double decrease of infertility rate has been noticed in recent years.

“According to the examination developed in 2000 we had a 31.9 per mille infertility rate which was quite worrying, the same examination made in 2010 showed a sharp decrease down to a 16.8 per mille rate. The result of the 2014 research was 14.8 per mille. I think the positive growth is quite obvious,” Avagyan said.

According to the health official, measures include the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, abortion reduction programs, examination among 15-year- old boys and girls, detection and treatment of pathologies.

Summing up the results, Avagyan noted that due to programs developed in recent years 1,000 out of 45,000 annual births were registered with couples who overcame infertility problems.

Armenia is a dying nation, on the end of its life span...Dont know why we need all these weapons when we are just part of the Russian Federation...Might as well move all Armenians to Russia and just become one of their homelesss minorities. The economy is in the dumps, Armenians are leaving the country in bus loads...Land is useless, and dead. Nothing valuable about it, the churches and graveyards are being destroyed by the Turks and oligarchs.

Just nuke the country already, put it out of its misery. PLEASE.

Seriously though, nothing will change. heritage and their populist followers will just go ape xxxx and take over the government, leaving the Western wolves to tear it apart while Karabakh falls to the Azeris who would have resumed the war in the wake of political unrest. Once they take it over, they would have locked Armenia in a losing war with Azerbaijan, Syunik will be occupied, and the rest of the country will probably fall to Turkey or join the Russian Federation.

This country has no future, no land, no sea access, no resources, no growth and no population that is willing to live there. Thats the unfortunate truth of the situation. Armenia will never be self-reliant, we are just another province of Russia.

I dont want to bring everyone down, but we all know its true. Nothing is going to change, and if something does...it will only be catastrophic. The international community has left Armenia to rot, they dont care about the genocide of our people, the conquering of our lands, the racism and hatred for us in our neighbor's cities. They don't care, and if Turkey invaded and swallowed up Armenia...Russia wouldnt do anything to avoid fighting NATO troops.

The genocide dealt the first blow, the post-soviet depression will be the last. The Armenian story ends here, unfortunately.

im really glad you brought this up,appericiate your guts man,we had this coming for long specially after all these latest development.i know this furom is mainly military but we need to talk about these in order to have the motivation to even post military updates.you probably fell under that aliyev speeches,i been too before but ive been proven wrong.hes speech that "Armenia will get empty and we ill go back to irevan" and blah blah, that's like their breakfast prayer before they start their day.remember back in 1991 their president said he will wash his feet in sevan?now hes washing his feet in his wife's afterbirth.i mean African countries with terrorist organizations survive and heir populations are not leaving the country they simply die and don't even become diaspora to contribute, the genocide recognition i agree that should teach us to stand up by ourselves and stop relying on obamas tongue to role and say the word genocide or kardashians fat ass to put a flower in tsixernakabert so they can raise awareness.we've been discussing geopolitics too which our neighbors and allies need us there and our military is standing well, our land is really good for agriculture and stuff, tourism is growing, new contracts are being signed both military and economically.let aliyev come to Yerevan the only azeri flag he will wave is the one that will be stabbed in his A$$.if turks and azeris know they have 1% chance of succeding they will attack tonight, but fortuantly they arent, either it be russia or our military, its still a victory for us to be a state and not be like assyrians

Yes it is unfortunate our Assyrian brothers are being killed in Syria and Iraq by American funded and backed ISIS and dont have a state for themselves...but economically speaking..Armenia will not survive unless drastic changes are made. We won't have our own, sovereign, self-reliant, and strong state sooner than you might think.

The Armenian government cant do anything about emigration, its the general situation the country in that is causing this, not just the economy alone. The lack of hope in the country is staggering, its as miserable as Bulgaria..At least Bulgaria has somewhat of a population, territory, and economy. Half the people living below the poverty line in Armenia dont even know it either. Aliyev is a mentally handicapped asswipe who should have been euthanized at birth, he isn't good at anything and isnt a threat. Whats a threat is Russian domination of our nation, the Russians have literally taken over almost every aspect of our economy and sovereignty. Admit it guys, Armenia never actually chose to the EEU. They had to join the EEU, Russia forced them.

Id rather Armenia be associated with the NATO Mafia gangsters. At least they allow nations to become self-reliant, Russia is hell bent on enslaving the nations around it in order to maintain what little influence it has in most of the post-Soviet world because NATO is kicking their ass on the geopolitical front. Why is Armenia opting to choose the losing side in this? Because Russia is making them. Yes, if Russia didnt take over Armenia Azerbaijan and Turkey would have I know...but countries like Bosnia and semi-nations like Kosovo are way better off than NKR or Armenia will ever be in the foreseeable future. The only way things can change is if Armenia gains land to the west, to the sea. In the long term, I see no other way Armenia is going to be able to survive, no other way Armenians will be able to say that they are a proud, independent, sovereign nation. Armenia will just end up like Belarus if Turkey doesnt finish our people off when they get a pretext to invade. 50 percent of economy will be based on Russia, we will be forced into a literal union with the Russian Federation...Our currency will just switch to the ruble and it will be like Soviet times again..

At least genocidal NATO leaves room for pride and independence...Armenia will never have that unless SOMETHING, ANYTHING CHANGES.

You are right argin, we need to discuss this. No one even posts in Condition of Armenia thread anymore, it needs to be discussed whether its pleasant or not. Our nation is on the brink of ending, we have been living under occupation since the Byzantine Empire...we experienced brief independence and then we were double penetrated by the turks and communists...betrayed by the people who claimed to have helped us.

Georgia is generally much better off than us right now, they are twice the size, have a coast, have 1.5 million more people, a thriving defense industry, and improving Army based on superior Western tactics developed over years of conquering nations. It may have separatists regions but without Russia they would have been crushed and taken back...

I can see why people love idiots like Raffi, he actually speaks to their hopes that Armenia will become, not strong, but independent again...for real. We can stay with Russia, and live for another 20 years before becoming an oblast...or we can go western with a Heritage government, get some damn valuable land as reparation, and risk it. This is how nations move on, not by becoming economically glued to another country for the sake of survival.

Mods should seriously add a chatbox to this forum, are mods even still present in this forum? Mods other than Joseph? Is there even staff, or a user base here anymore?

you are right about most of these but what to do,we tried playing loose with Russia it ended up with 3 bln dollar arms sales to azeris.going west will be a giant middle finger to Russia and thus we will end up like Georgia or even worse,we have two Turk neighbors that would be unleashed upon us in matter of seconds before we can raise our hands to shake natos hand and sign anything.i hate russias moves as much as you do,theyput their hand on armenias key sectors and take them for free instead of a payment for Armenia debt,we can borrow money from china at least they don't take infrastructure in return,we can see that from US debts, they stay in debt but don't lose anything.every economy in the world swings Armenias isn't in surprise,Greece is in miserable situation, honestly we would end up like Greece if we didn't have diaspora pouring money in the throats of the Armenian people and government in Armenia,we have that advantage that the Greeks don't,its unfortunate to see Greeks and Assyrians in bad situation tho by the way, hope the best for them.our government is the one doing the most damage,Belarus is being controlled mostly by russias demands but them having a stable government makes them feel more independent and in control with a stable economy that is also has a strong military defense production.cuba which is in the headlines nowdays, they for example existed with tackling with a superpower and no one to support them excewpt soviets thats are long gone, they dont have neighbors and not a potential allie behind them but they survive, they struggle but they survive.we can struggle but still survive, like edo says keep your head high my friend and dont show the enemy weakness, there are dozens of them checking our everyday posts, they always check our pages, they even checked your recently and mine too, they want us to look weak and lose our hope, thats when they will get us.everything will get well
