Countries that supply Armenia's armed forces

So of course Russia is a major supplier, but my question is from who else do we get weapons and technology? Only Russia?

It's great to get their weapons at a cheap price, but shouldn't we diversify the places from which we get military weapons? Getting some from countries like France, China, or Greece. Which all have their own superb military technologies that we could well use alongside Russian technologies.

Armenia cannot afford to arm her forces that way because they do not give us weapons for free or cheap like Russia does. Armenia is a dependent state it cannot survive on its own and needs Russias help. That said we do buy some weapons from Belarus, Serbia and other countries but not in any big quantities.

We have four WM-80s from China and I think Albania secretly sells us weapons as well. Years ago, there was a scandal where Turks intercepted an Albanian arms shipment that was going to Armenia. Ukraine is a big arms exporter as well so I wouldn't be surprised if we have Ukrainian weaponry too.

So we should only get free weapons? Why not buy some expensive weapons? We really could use some of the sophisticated Western weapons.

Wow Albania? Out of all the places, I wouldn't expect Albania to be arming us...You have a source for that? I'm just surprised we don't get more sophisticated Western weapons especially from countries like France and Germany with which we have close ties (esp France). Or from Greece and Cyprus. Or is that Russia doesn't allow us to get weapons from anywhere else but them?

Arms from France and Germany are too NATO style for our army which is mostly Russian based. Not too mention they are much more expensive and that Russia might not like it that we turn to the West for arms as well. For example, we buy from Serbia cause they are not yet in NATO and they are good friends of Russia. It's just economical/political reasons.

Mos you seem to a hard time understanding what is written. Where did i say that we only get free weapons or that we should only get free weapons? Quit making up stuff t havehats not there. Our supplier is Russia the rest of the others put togather do not amount to anything significant.

So you are saying that Armenia should not buy any other weapons because they are not as cheap as Russian weapons. I disagree, we should continue to get arms from Russia, but supplement that with other expensive and advanced weapons from the West.

@Federate, It's one thing to use different rifles for all the soldiers, but I'm talking more about air defence, drones, vehicles, and so on.

I can't even buy a nail clipper that doesn't break by the time I get to the 9th finger since they started making them in China and you want to buy Chinese aircraft?

They are dirt sheep....plus I am counting on our normal Arminification process.
