On the second page it eloquently says "The gulf that separates us from Gobekli Tepe's builders is almost unimaginable. Indeed, though I stood among the looming megaliths eager to take in their meaning, they didn't speak to me. They were utterly foreign, placed there by people who saw the world in a way I will never comprehend." Yet, if Gobekli Tepe were in the territory of present-day Armenia, Kanadahye would claim its builders to be Armenians! My reply to Kanadahye's question was dismissive becasue the whole premise of his question was so utterly wrong.

No, I know sites like Gobekli Tepe are B.S. collaborations made by the German-Turko alliances. Nobody gives a sh!t about some rocks so let's not pretend that it's some huge discovery. Of course, you like to pander to the Turkish lobby because they let all of your kind excavate on ancient Armenian land.

Just because the idea of "Nation" didn't exist doesn't mean Armenians didn't exist. There are so called "scholars" that don't consider the diaspora as Armenian since they weren't born via ArmenianSSR.

You're saying at no point in history, did Armenians occupy that area? I imagine once they get the thing dated, it'll be easy enough to examine evidence of that time period to determine who occupied the region.

Oh FFS, come on! He's saying that Armenia didn't exist that long ago, ergo it's incorrect to call those people "Armenians" per se. I believe first mention of Armenia was ~500BC? And people accuse me of having an ego I can't set aside... sheesh! Instead of repeating yourselves when there's clearly a lack of common understanding, try clarifying!

Btw Kanada, that's kind of a big point to miss when it's hinted at that directly, especially if you consider yourself strong in the critical thinking arena. I say this playfully and only because you often accuse me (albeit not at all jokingly) of being brainwashed and incapable of original thought.

You can carbon-date organic material found in-situ during excavations - such as material found around the edges of whatever pit was originally dug to support the stones, or from man-made objects associated with the site like bone or wooden tools or burials or rubbish pits. Much of the history of Stonehenge has been understood because of this sort of carbon-dating, and it has revealed that there were many older henges on the same site before its current appearance was reached. I don't thing any investigations of that sort has happened at Karahunge - so not only do we not know anything specific about its date, we do not know if its current form evolved over time or was a result of a single building period.

There is thought to have been another Karahunge-type monument located in the mountains to the southwest of Dogubayazit, overlooking Ararat. Only there all of the stones have been moved and reused as gravestones or have been disturbed by treasure hunters. Some of these are stones with holes through them like Karahunge that the crazy Noah's ark hunters claim are "anchor stones".

It isn't really correct to talk about "Armenians" in a 2000 or 3000BC context. There were no Armenians 5000 years ago.

I think the scientist they refer to in the video dated it by Earth's precession and the positions of celestial bodies in the sky. Perhaps they haven't been granted permission to dig? I don't really know anything about this beyond what's presented in the video.
