Re: American Play about Gay Armenian

At least it will make people more aware that there's a place called Armenia. Despite what most people think, no matter how many times the Kardashians say they're Armenian, no one really ever seems to know where it is or even what it is. I even met an Iranian girl from Iran who thought Armenia wasn't a country anymore.

Homos will be around regardless of your hate or love for them. Armenia has always had a gay community and they usually hung out at the park in Yerevan. Homosexuality is simply a part of life and it shouldnt be glorifies nor condemed but it should be accepted for what it is and nothing more or less. Homophobia is pervasive in Armenia but no more then in many of its neighboring countries.

Having gays in the community and having an exclusive gay community are two entirely different things. Segregation never ends well in civil society.

Homophobia (or rather a condemnation towards its promotion) is pervasive everywhere in the world. It's just that the media in the west has made it fashionable and molded the younger generations to think it's "cool", "normal".
