this whole recognition process is a cover for international requirements , we all know once recognized, Artsakh merging with the motherland is inevitable.
Yeah the ceasefire violations show the effects of Karabakh not having final status. It's hard living and not knowing when the enemy might attack or fire on you. Azeris won't ever agree to Artsakh independence, so the only way we can really achieve it is to crush them a second time if they attack.

Of course. Artsakh really is just another Armenian province. Of course it can't be portrayed as such.

    .

My yardstick for the recognition of independence for Artsakh is Akbazia.

I do not believe Artsakh will become independent before Akbazia simply because of the strategic capabilities of each combatant pair.

What I mean is that this recognition is good PR for us, but doesn't add to NKR having a final status. The status quo is good for now, but the Karabakh people deserve to have a legal status as an independent state rather than living in unrecognised state forever.

I don't think we can have peace with Azeris or Turks. It's hard to be on normal terms with an uncivilized, fascist people.

Russia does not want any strong state near its borders and this applies to Armenia as well. Russias policy is to keep its neighbors weak and dependent. Armenia needs Russia much more then Russia needs Armenia. The assumptions you make are invalid.

Artsakh Recognition - more can be done

I am sure you all heard about Australia's largest state New South Wales recognition of Artsakh, so congrats, that's a good start.

but I am concerned about the inactivity of our government in achieving recognition of Artsakh. many latin states has voiced their readiness to recognize Artsakh such as Uruguay, and the neighboring countries...

    http://www.panorama.am/en/politics/2.../26/hraparak1/

the most frustrating part in that article is where it says: "The paper notes that Uruguay has long been ready to recognize NKR, but was hindered by Russia and the United States."

what is worth mentioning is that Azeri media such as www.news.az has voiced serious concerns about possible recognition of Artsakh by Latin countries, they even called for opening of embassies in these countries to prevent the recognition and protect their interest, so what is the RA government is waiting for? Don't tell me because the peace talks, the peace talks are supposed to achieve recognition of Artsakh.

Russia not wanting to solve this? I don't understand those Russians, does not a stronger Armenia mean a stronger Russia? everyone should know that Russia needs Armenia as much as Armenia needs Russia, some pressure from our side should be made on Russia to solve critical issues such as Artsakh issue...
